出入国在留管理庁長官は、職権で、審査の申請に関して必要な調査をするものとする。
The Commissioner of the Immigration Services Agency is to conduct the necessary investigation concerning a request for examination ex officio.
出入国在留管理庁長官は、前項の調査をするため必要があるときは、入国者収容所長等に対し、報告若しくは資料その他の物件の提出を命じ、又はその指名する職員をして、審査の申請をした者その他の関係者に対し質問をさせ、若しくは物件の提出を求めさせ、これらの者が提出した物件を留め置かせ、若しくは検証を行わせることができる。
If it is necessary for the investigation set forth in the preceding paragraph, the Commissioner of the Immigration Services Agency may order the director of the immigration detention center, etc. to submit reports or materials or other objects, or have an official designated by the Commissioner question the person who filed the request for examination or other relevant persons or request them to submit objects, retain the objects submitted by those persons, or conduct an inspection.
