The Committee is composed of not more than 10 members.

The members are appointed by the Minister of Justice from among persons of high character and insight who are enthusiastic about improving and enhancing the operation of immigration detention centers, etc.

The term of office of the members is 1 year; provided, however, that reappointment is not precluded.

The members serve on a part-time basis.

Beyond what is provided for in the preceding paragraphs, necessary matters concerning the organization and operation of the Committee are specified by Ministry of Justice Order.
