With regard to the application of Article 29-2, paragraph (2) of the new Regulation for Enforcement of the Immigration Control Act to a mid- to long-term resident to be issued a residence card later, the phrase "residence card" in that paragraph is deemed to be replaced with "passport that has received a notation to the effect that a residence card will be issued at a later date pursuant to the provisions of Article 7, paragraph (1) of the Supplementary Provisions of the Act Partially Amending the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act and the Special Act on the Immigration Control of, inter alia, those who have lost Japanese Nationality pursuant to the Treaty of Peace with Japan, and Other Matters (Act No. 79 of 2009)".
