A motor vehicle must not be used for operation unless its structure conforms, with respect to the following matters, to the technical standards for safety, or for pollution prevention and other conservation of the environment, prescribed by Order of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism:
length, width and height;

gross vehicle weight (meaning the sum of the vehicle weight, the maximum load capacity and the weight obtained by multiplying 55 kilograms by the seating capacity);
車両総重量（車両重量、最大積載量及び五十五キログラムに乗車定員を乗じて得た重量の総和をいう。）
load on the wheels;
車輪にかかる荷重
ratio of the load on the wheels to the vehicle weight (meaning the weight of the motor vehicle when equipped with the equipment necessary for operation);
ratio of the load on the wheels to the gross vehicle weight;
車輪にかかる荷重の車両総重量に対する割合
maximum stable inclination angle;
最大安定傾斜角度
minimum turning radius;
最小回転半径
ground contact area and ground contact pressure.
接地部及び接地圧
定義第二条第二項・法令全体に適用
原動機により陸上を移動させることを目的として製作した用具で軌条若しくは架線を用いないもの又はこれにより牽引して陸上を移動させることを目的として製作した用具であつて、次項に規定する原動機付自転車以外のもの
わかりやすく言うと
原動機で陸上を移動させる目的で作られた用具でレールや架線を使わないもの、またはそれに引かれて陸上を移動する目的で作られた用具のうち、原動機付自転車にあたらないもののことです。

人又は物品を運送するとしないとにかかわらず、道路運送車両を当該装置の用い方に従い用いること（道路以外の場所のみにおいて用いることを除く。）
