Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect on April 1, 1963.
この法律は、昭和三十八年四月一日から施行する。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 3Transitional Measures Concerning Benefits for Medical Treatment, etc. under Health Insurance
第三条（健康保険の療養の給付等に関する経過措置）
A person who is an insured person pursuant to the provisions of Article 20 of the Health Insurance Act at the time this Act comes into effect may, by making a request to the insurer within one month from the day this Act comes into effect, lose eligibility as an insured person at the time the period prescribed in Article 21, item (i) of the Health Insurance Act prior to its amendment by this Act has elapsed.
With regard to the payment of benefits for medical treatment or dependent's medical expenses for the sickness or injury, and the sickness arising therefrom (hereinafter referred to as "injury or illness"), of a person who was an insured person of health insurance or a person who was a dependent, for which three years have elapsed, before this Act comes into effect, after the start of the benefits for medical treatment or the payment of dependent's medical expenses, the provisions then in force continue to govern, notwithstanding the provisions amending Article 55 of the Health Insurance Act.
With regard to benefits for medical treatment or the payment of dependent's medical expenses for the injury or illness concerned and sickness arising therefrom, for the period from the elapse of the relevant period until this Act comes into effect, for an insured person or dependent of health insurance for whom three years have elapsed after the start of benefits for medical treatment or the payment of dependent's medical expenses for the same injury or illness before this Act comes into effect, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
