①This Act comes into effect on September 1, 1953; provided, however, that the provisions amending Article 57-3 and the provisions of paragraph (5) of the Supplementary Provisions come into effect on November 1 of the same year.

②With regard to a person who acquired eligibility as an insured person before September 1, 1953 and has continuously held eligibility as an insured person until September 1 of that year, the provisions of Article 3, paragraph (3) after amendment apply by deeming that person to have acquired eligibility as an insured person on September 1 of that year.

③With regard to the standard remuneration amount, until October 31 of that year, of persons who fall under the provisions of the preceding paragraph and persons who acquired eligibility as an insured person pursuant to the provisions of Article 13, item (i), (a) through (k) or item (ii) or Article 15 during the period from September 1, 1953 to October 31 of that year, the provisions then in force continue to govern, notwithstanding the provisions amending Article 3 and the provisions of the preceding paragraph.

④A person who acquired eligibility as an insured person pursuant to the provisions of Article 13, item (i), (l) through (p) after amendment during the period from September 1, 1953 to October 31 of that year is deemed not to have become an insured person until October 31 of that year, with regard to the application of the provisions on insurance benefits and sharing of costs.

⑤With regard to the payment of insurance benefits for the sickness or injury of an insured person or a person who was an insured person, or of a dependent or a person who was a dependent, and for any sickness arising therefrom, for which two years have elapsed before November 1, 1953, counted from the date of commencement of benefits for medical treatment or payment of dependent's medical expenses, the provisions then in force continue to govern, notwithstanding the provisions amending Article 57-3.
