Notwithstanding the provisions of Article 19-5, paragraph (1), the validity period of the specified residence cards set forth in the following items is to last until the end of the day specified in the respective item in accordance with the categories set forth in those items:
a specified residence card pertaining to a notification or application set forth in paragraph (1), item (i) of the preceding Article or a notification prescribed in paragraph (2) of the same Article by a mid- to long-term resident set forth in Article 19-5, paragraph (1), items (i) and (ii) (excluding a person set forth in the following item):the tenth birthday after the date of the notification or application (if an application pursuant to the provisions of Article 19-11, paragraph (1) has been filed, the expiration date of the validity period of the old card); or
第十九条の五第一項第一号及び第二号に掲げる中長期在留者（次号に掲げる者を除く。）による前条第一項第一号に掲げる届出若しくは申請又は同条第二項に規定する届出に係る特定在留カード 当該届出又は申請の日（第十九条の十一第一項の規定による申請があつた場合は、旧カードの有効期間の満了の日）後の十回目の誕生日
a specified residence card pertaining to a permanent resident who is under 18 years of age on the date of the notification or application set forth in paragraph (1), item (i) of the preceding Article or of the notification prescribed in paragraph (2) of the same Article (with regard to an application pursuant to the provisions of Article 19-11, paragraph (1), excluding a person for whom the expiration date of the validity period of the old card is their eighteenth birthday):the fifth birthday after the date of the notification or application (if an application pursuant to the provisions of Article 19-11, paragraph (1) has been filed, the expiration date of the validity period of the old card).
永住者であつて、前条第一項第一号に掲げる届出若しくは申請又は同条第二項に規定する届出の日に十八歳に満たない者（第十九条の十一第一項の規定による申請については、旧カードの有効期間の満了の日が十八歳の誕生日である者を除く。）に係る特定在留カード 当該届出又は申請の日（第十九条の十一第一項の規定による申請があつた場合は、旧カードの有効期間の満了の日）後の五回目の誕生日
If an application pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (1) of the preceding Article (limited to one pertaining to an application pursuant to the provisions of Article 19-11, paragraph (1)) has been filed and a new specified residence card is not issued by the time the expiration date of the validity period of the old card has passed, notwithstanding the provisions of Article 19-5, paragraph (1) or the preceding paragraph, the validity period of the old card is to last until whichever of the following times comes earlier:
the time when the new specified residence card is issued; or
新たな特定在留カードが交付される時
the time when the day on which 2 months have passed from the expiration date of the validity period of the old card ends.
旧カードの有効期間の満了の日から二月を経過する日が終了する時
If the Commissioner of the Immigration Services Agency finds that it is difficult to issue a new specified residence card by the time set forth in item (ii) of the preceding paragraph, the Commissioner is to have an immigration inspector issue a new residence card to the mid- to long-term resident by that time and, when it becomes possible to issue the new specified residence card, have the immigration inspector issue that specified residence card.
