Supplementary Provisions, Article 6

第六条

A person who has passed a driver's license test for a motorcycle license as referred to in the Former Act as of the time this Act comes into force but who has not received a motorcycle license as referred to in the Former Act is deemed to have passed the driver's license test for a standard motorcycle license if that person has passed a driver's license test that was conducted under the premise that the motorcycles as referred to in the Former Act that the person would be permitted to drive with the motorcycle license as referred to in the Former Act would be restricted to those that are equivalent to standard motorcycles, and is deemed to have passed the driver's license test for a large motorcycle license if that person has passed a driver's license test for a motorcycle license as referred to in the Former Act other than one conducted under that premise.

この法律の施行の際現に旧法二輪免許に係る運転免許試験に合格して旧法二輪免許を受けていない者は、当該旧法二輪免許により運転することができる旧法自動二輪車を普通自動二輪車に相当するものに限定して行われた当該運転免許試験に合格した者については普通自動二輪車免許に係る運転免許試験に合格した者と、それ以外の旧法二輪免許に係る運転免許試験に合格した者については大型自動二輪車免許に係る運転免許試験に合格した者とみなす。

Using a vehicle or streetcar on a road as it is meant to be used, including moving a motor vehicle or motorized bicycle by pedals or other human-powered gear it has besides its motor, but not specified automated operation (特定自動運行).

The motorcycle license (自動二輪車免許) of Article 84, paragraph (3) of the Road Traffic Act as it stood before Act No. 74 of 1995 amended it, which Article 2, paragraph (1) of that Act's supplementary provisions (附則) deems to be a large motorcycle license (大型自動二輪車免許), or, in the cases its items (ii) and (iii) list, a standard motorcycle license (普通自動二輪車免許).

In Article 2 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 74 of 1995, the standard motorcycle license under Article 84, paragraph (3) of this Act as that Act amended it, which a motorcycle license (自動二輪車免許) held under the earlier wording is deemed to be in the cases items (ii) and (iii) of paragraph (1) of that Article list; in other cases it is deemed a large motorcycle license (大型自動二輪車免許).

The motorcycle (自動二輪車) of Article 3 of the Road Traffic Act as it stood before Act No. 74 of 1995 amended it, as Article 2, paragraph (1), item (ii) of that Act's supplementary provisions (附則) uses the term for licenses limited to motorcycles corresponding to the new standard motorcycle (普通自動二輪車).
