Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect as of the date specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding six months from the date of promulgation (hereinafter referred to as the "Effective Date"); provided, however, that the provisions of Article 15 come into effect as of the date specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding two years from the date of promulgation of this Act, and the provisions of Article 11 of the Supplementary Provisions (excluding the part amending Article 8, paragraph (1) of the Local Tax Act (Act No. 226 of 1950)) come into effect as of January 1, 1970.
この法律は、公布の日から起算して六月をこえない範囲内において政令で定める日（以下「施行日」という。）から施行する。ただし、第十五条の規定はこの法律の公布の日から起算して二年をこえない範囲内において政令で定める日から、附則第十一条（地方税法（昭和二十五年法律第二百二十六号）第八条第一項の改正部分を除く。）の規定は昭和四十五年一月一日から施行する。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 2Repeal of the Residents Registration Act and the Act for Enforcement of the Residents Registration Act
第二条（住民登録法及び住民登録法施行法の廃止）
The Residents Registration Act (Act No. 218 of 1951) and the Act for Enforcement of the Residents Registration Act (Act No. 106 of 1952) are repealed.
住民登録法（昭和二十六年法律第二百十八号）及び住民登録法施行法（昭和二十七年法律第百六号）は、廃止する。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 3Transitional Measures Accompanying the Repeal of the Residents Registration Act
第三条（住民登録法の廃止に伴う経過措置）
A notification or other act made before the Effective Date under the provisions of the Former Residents Registration Act is deemed to have been made under the corresponding provisions of this Act.
施行日前にした旧住民登録法の規定に基づく届出その他の行為は、この法律の相当規定に基づいてされたものとみなす。
With regard to the application of penal provisions to an act committed before the Effective Date in violation of the provisions of the Former Residents Registration Act, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
施行日前にした旧住民登録法の規定に違反する行為に対する罰則の適用については、なお従前の例による。
Beyond what is provided for in the preceding two paragraphs, the transitional measures necessary in connection with the repeal of the Residents Registration Act are specified by Cabinet Order.
前二項に定めるもののほか、住民登録法の廃止に伴い必要な経過措置は、政令で定める。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 5Transitional Measures Concerning a Family Register Supplement
第五条（戸籍の附票に関する経過措置）
A family register supplement under the provisions of the Former Residents Registration Act is deemed to be a family register supplement under the provisions of this Act.
旧住民登録法の規定による戸籍の附票は、この法律の規定による戸籍の附票とみなす。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 7Special Provisions Concerning an Insured Person under Long-Term Care Insurance
第七条（介護保険の被保険者に関する特例）
For the time being, with regard to the application of the provisions of Article 7, item (x)-3, the phrase "(Article 9 of the Long-Term Care Insurance Act (Act No. 123 of 1997)" in that item is deemed to be replaced with "(Article 9 of the Long-Term Care Insurance Act (Act No. 123 of 1997) and Article 11, paragraph (1) of the Act for Enforcement of the Long-Term Care Insurance Act (Act No. 124 of 1997)", and the phrase "item (ii) of that Article" is deemed to be replaced with "Article 9, item (ii) of the Long-Term Care Insurance Act".
