Supplementary Provisions, Article 23Special Provisions on Lump-Sum Retirement Payments
第二十三条（退職一時金に関する特例）
If a female member listed in the upper column of the following table (including a member with optional and continued coverage of the Mutual Aid Association for Employees of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Organizations; the same applies hereinafter in this Article) whose period as a member is one year or more and less than 20 years loses status as a member within 13 years counted from the day of the promulgation of this Act, the provisions listed in the lower column of the table apply to her, except where, at the time of losing that status, she comes to have the right to receive an aggregated retirement pension or is subject to the provisions listed in the middle column of the table.

次の表の上欄に掲げる組合員（農林漁業団体職員共済組合の任意継続組合員を含む。以下この条において同じ。）たる女子で組合員であつた期間が一年以上二十年未満である者が、この法律の公布の日から起算して十三年以内に組合員の資格を喪失したときは、その者に対しては、その者が当該資格を喪失した際、通算退職年金を受ける権利を有することとなる場合又は同表の中欄に掲げる規定の適用を受ける場合を除き、同表の下欄に掲げる規定を適用する。

In the case of a female who acquired status as a member listed in the upper column of the table in the preceding paragraph on or after November 1, 1961, and whose period as a member is one year or more and less than 20 years, if she loses status as that member during the period from that day to the day before the day of the promulgation of this Act, the same as in that paragraph applies to her as well. In such a case, the phrase "date of retirement", "that day", or "the day on which grounds falling under the provisions of paragraph (1) arose" in the provisions listed in the lower column of the table is deemed to be replaced with "the day of the promulgation of the Act Partially Amending the Employees' Pension Insurance Act (Act No. 104 of 1965)".
When a lump-sum retirement payment is paid pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, if there is an amount that was paid to the person as a lump-sum retirement payment in connection with the loss of status as a member prescribed in that paragraph, that amount is deemed to be a partial advance payment of the lump-sum retirement payment to be paid pursuant to the provisions of that paragraph.
