①If a detainee dies and there is no person to carry out the burial or cremation of the body, the burial or cremation is to be carried out by the director of the immigration detention center, etc., notwithstanding the provisions of Article 9 of the Act on Graveyards, Burial, etc. (Act No. 48 of 1948).

②Beyond what is provided for in the preceding paragraph, measures concerning the body of a detainee are provided for by Ministry of Justice Order.
