Supplementary Provisions, Article 6Transitional Measures Concerning Requests to Change the Person with Parental Authority
第六条（親権者の変更の請求に関する経過措置）
A request to change the person with parental authority made before the Effective Date pursuant to the provisions of Article 819, paragraph (6) of the Former Civil Code (including as applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to Article 749 of the Former Civil Code) (excluding a request for which the adjudication pertaining to that request became final and binding before the Effective Date) is deemed, on or after the Effective Date, to be a request to change the person with parental authority made pursuant to the provisions of Article 819, paragraph (6) of the New Civil Code (including as applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to Article 749 of the New Civil Code).
施行日前に旧民法第八百十九条第六項（旧民法第七百四十九条において準用する場合を含む。）の規定によりされた親権者の変更の請求（施行日前に当該請求に係る審判が確定したものを除く。）は、施行日以後は、新民法第八百十九条第六項（新民法第七百四十九条において準用する場合を含む。）の規定によりされた親権者の変更の請求とみなす。
