主任審査官は、法務省令で定めるところにより、第五十五条の八十五第一項の規定により出国命令を受けた者から、当該出国命令に係る出国期限内に出国することができない旨の申出があつた場合には、船舶等の運航の都合その他その者の責めに帰することができない事由があると認めるときに限り、当該出国期限を延長することができる。
Upon receiving notification from the foreign national who has been given a departure order pursuant to the provisions of Article 55-85, paragraph (1) that they are unable to depart from Japan within the deadline for departure pertaining to the departure order, the supervising immigration inspector may extend the deadline for departure pursuant to the provisions of Ministry of Justice Order, provided that the inspector finds grounds not attributable to that person, such as the operating schedule of the vessel or aircraft used for departure.
