第十八条（検討）
Promptly after the promulgation of this Act, the Government is to review the approach to the use, in residence management, employment management and the social insurance system with regard to foreign nationals residing in Japan, of residence card numbers (meaning the number of the residence card set forth in Article 19-4, paragraph (1), item (v) of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act) and other numbers and the like by which a specific individual can be identified, and, if it finds it necessary, take the required measures based on the results.
政府は、この法律の公布後、速やかに、本邦に在留する外国人に係る在留管理、雇用管理及び社会保険制度における在留カードの番号（出入国管理及び難民認定法第十九条の四第一項第五号の在留カードの番号をいう。）その他の特定の個人を識別することができる番号等の利用の在り方について検討を加え、必要があると認めるときは、その結果に基づいて所要の措置を講ずるものとする。
When 2 years have elapsed after this Act comes into effect, the Government is to review the approach to the system pertaining to the status of residence of "Specified Skilled Worker" in Appended Table I (2) of the New Immigration Control Act (including the approach to the involvement of local governments, the approach to the method of determining whether a person has the skills set forth in item (i) or (ii) of the right-hand column under "Specified Skilled Worker" in the same Table, and the relationship with the system pertaining to the status of residence of "Technical Intern Training" in the same Table), taking into account the opinions of the relevant local governments, relevant business operators, local residents and other relevant persons, and, if it finds it necessary, take the required measures based on the results.
政府は、この法律の施行後二年を経過した場合において、新入管法別表第一の二の表の特定技能の在留資格に係る制度の在り方（地方公共団体の関与の在り方、同表の特定技能の項の下欄第一号又は第二号の技能を有するかどうかの判定の方法の在り方及び同表の技能実習の在留資格に係る制度との関係を含む。）について、関係地方公共団体、関係事業者、地域住民その他の関係者の意見を踏まえて検討を加え、必要があると認めるときは、その結果に基づいて所要の措置を講ずるものとする。
