①Among persons who, before the item (v) Effective Date, acquired the status of an insured covered by employees' pension insurance (excluding category II EPI insureds prescribed in Article 2-5, paragraph (1), item (ii) of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act and category III EPI insureds prescribed in item (iii) of that paragraph; the same applies hereinafter in this paragraph), and who continue to have the status of an insured covered by employees' pension insurance until the item (v) Effective Date (excluding persons whose standardized monthly amount of remuneration (meaning the standardized monthly amount of remuneration prescribed in Article 20, paragraph (1) of that Act; the same applies hereinafter in this Article) is to be revised from October 2016), for those whose standardized monthly amount of remuneration for September of that year is 98,000 yen (excluding those for whom the amount of monthly remuneration that formed the basis of that standardized monthly amount of remuneration is 93,000 yen or more), the standardized monthly amount of remuneration is to be revised by the implementing organization, by deeming the amount of monthly remuneration that formed the basis of that standardized monthly amount of remuneration to be the amount of monthly remuneration that forms the basis of the standardized monthly amount of remuneration under Article 20, paragraph (1) of that Act as amended by the provisions of Article 3.

②The standardized monthly amount of remuneration revised pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph is the standardized monthly amount of remuneration for each month from October 2016 through August 2017.

③The provisions of the preceding two paragraphs apply mutatis mutandis when calculating the amount equivalent to the standardized monthly amount of remuneration under Article 46, paragraph (1) of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act. In this case, the phrase "acquired the status of an insured covered by employees' pension insurance (excluding category II EPI insureds prescribed in Article 2-5, paragraph (1), item (ii) of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act and category III EPI insureds prescribed in item (iii) of that paragraph; the same applies hereinafter in this paragraph)" in paragraph (1) is deemed to be replaced with "satisfied the requirements specified by Order of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare under Article 27 of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act", and the phrase "have the status of an insured covered by employees' pension insurance" is deemed to be replaced with "be persons aged 70 or over who satisfy those requirements and who were insureds covered by employees' pension insurance".

④The implementing organization (limited to the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare) is to have JPS carry out the administrative functions relating to its revision of the standardized monthly amount of remuneration pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (1) (including as applied mutatis mutandis in the preceding paragraph). In this case, in Article 23, paragraph (3) of the Japan Pension Organization Act, the phrase "the Employees' Pension Insurance Act" is deemed to be replaced with "the Employees' Pension Insurance Act or the Act Partially Amending the National Pension Act, etc. to Strengthen, etc. the Financial Basis and Minimum Guarantee Function of the Public Pension System (Act No. 62 of 2012)"; in Article 26, paragraph (2) of that Act, the phrase "the Employees' Pension Insurance Act" is deemed to be replaced with "the Employees' Pension Insurance Act or the Act Partially Amending the National Pension Act, etc. to Strengthen, etc. the Financial Basis and Minimum Guarantee Function of the Public Pension System"; in Article 27, paragraph (1), item (i) of that Act, the phrase "administrative functions related to the authority prescribed in Article 100-4, paragraph (1) of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act, the administrative functions prescribed in Article 100-10, paragraph (1) of that Act" is deemed to be replaced with "administrative functions related to the authority prescribed in Article 100-4, paragraph (1) of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act and Article 17-4, paragraph (1) of the Supplementary Provisions of the Act Partially Amending the National Pension Act, etc. to Strengthen, etc. the Financial Basis and Minimum Guarantee Function of the Public Pension System (including as applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to paragraph (3) of that Article), the administrative functions prescribed in Article 100-10, paragraph (1) of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act"; and in Article 48, paragraph (1) of that Act, the phrase "the Employees' Pension Insurance Act" is deemed to be replaced with "the Employees' Pension Insurance Act or the Act Partially Amending the National Pension Act, etc. to Strengthen, etc. the Financial Basis and Minimum Guarantee Function of the Public Pension System".
