Article 197Acceptance of Bribes; Acceptance upon Request; Acceptance in Advance of Assumption of Office
第百九十七条（収賄、受託収賄及び事前収賄）
A public employee who accepts, solicits or promises to accept a bribe in connection with their duties is punished by imprisonment for 5 years or less; and when the employee agrees to perform an act in response to a request, imprisonment for 7 years or less is imposed.
公務員が、その職務に関し、賄賂を収受し、又はその要求若しくは約束をしたときは、五年以下の拘禁刑に処する。この場合において、請託を受けたときは、七年以下の拘禁刑に処する。
When a person to be appointed a public employee accepts, solicits or promises to accept a bribe in connection with a duty to be assumed with agreement to perform an act in response to a request, the person is punished by imprisonment for 5 years or less in the event of appointment.
公務員になろうとする者が、その担当すべき職務に関し、請託を受けて、賄賂を収受し、又はその要求若しくは約束をしたときは、公務員となった場合において、五年以下の拘禁刑に処する。
