Article 71-4-2Rules to Be Observed by Drivers of Motor Vehicles Equipped with an Automated Operation Device, and Related Matters
第七十一条の四の二（自動運行装置を備えている自動車の運転者の遵守事項等）
The driver of a motor vehicle equipped with an automated operation device must not drive that motor vehicle using that automated operation device in the case where the conditions of use for that automated operation device are not satisfied.
In the case where the driver of a motor vehicle equipped with an automated operation device drives that motor vehicle using that automated operation device, if all of the following items apply, Article 71, item (v)-5 does not apply to that driver.
自動運行装置を備えている自動車の運転者が当該自動運行装置を使用して当該自動車を運転する場合において、次の各号のいずれにも該当するときは、当該運転者については、第七十一条第五号の五の規定は、適用しない。
the motor vehicle is not an improperly maintained vehicle;
the conditions of use for that automated operation device are satisfied; and
the driver is in a state of being able, in the case where either of the preceding two items ceases to apply, to immediately recognize that fact and reliably operate the devices of that motor vehicle other than that automated operation device.
