第八章 未遂罪
The punishment of a person who commences a crime without completing it may be reduced; provided, however, that voluntary abandonment of commission of the crime, leads to the punishment being reduced or the offender being exculpated.
犯罪の実行に着手してこれを遂げなかった者は、その刑を減軽することができる。ただし、自己の意思により犯罪を中止したときは、その刑を減軽し、又は免除する。
第四十四条（未遂罪）
An attempt is punishable only when specifically so provided in the Article concerned.
未遂を罰する場合は、各本条で定める。
