Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect on April 1, 2003; provided, however, that the provisions set forth in the following items come into effect on the dates specified in those items:
この法律は、平成十五年四月一日から施行する。ただし、次の各号に掲げる規定は、当該各号に定める日から施行する。
The provisions adding four Articles after Article 69-2 and the provisions amending Article 70-10 (limited to the part replacing "and Article 69" with ", Article 69, Article 69-3 (excluding paragraph (3)), and Articles 69-4 through 69-6"): April 1, 2004
第六十九条の二の次に四条を加える改正規定及び第七十条の十の改正規定（「及び第六十九条」を「、第六十九条、第六十九条の三（第三項を除く。）及び第六十九条の四から第六十九条の六まで」に改める部分に限る。） 平成十六年四月一日
Supplementary Provisions, Article 2Transitional Measures Concerning Applications for Approval
第二条（認可の申請に関する経過措置）
An application for approval that has been made pursuant to Article 4, paragraph (1) of the School Education Act before amendment and is pending at the time this Act comes into effect, regarding the establishment and abolition of, or other matters specified by Cabinet Order concerning, a university faculty or an academic unit of a graduate school, or a university department under Article 69-2, paragraph (2) of that Act before amendment, and that falls under any of the items of Article 4, paragraph (2) of that Act after amendment, is deemed to be a notification made pursuant to the latter sentence of that paragraph after amendment.
この法律の施行の際現に改正前の学校教育法第四条第一項の規定によりされている大学の学部若しくは大学院の研究科又は改正前の同法第六十九条の二第二項の大学の学科の設置廃止その他政令で定める事項についての認可の申請であって、改正後の同法第四条第二項各号の規定に該当するものは、改正後の同項後段の規定によりされた届出とみなす。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 3Acts Necessary for the Establishment of Professional Graduate Schools
第三条（専門職大学院の設置のため必要な行為）
Procedures and other acts necessary for the establishment of a professional graduate school may be taken even before this Act comes into effect.
専門職大学院の設置のため必要な手続その他の行為は、この法律の施行前においても行うことができる。
