Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect on April 1, 1999; provided, however, that the provision of Article 1 amending the School Education Act by adding one article after Article 55 comes into effect on October 1, 1998, and the provisions of the following Article come into effect on the date of promulgation.
この法律は、平成十一年四月一日から施行する。ただし、第一条中学校教育法第五十五条の次に一条を加える改正規定は平成十年十月一日から、次条の規定は公布の日から施行する。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 2Acts Necessary for the Establishment of Secondary Education Schools
第二条（中等教育学校の設置のため必要な行為）
Procedures and other acts necessary for the establishment of a secondary education school may be taken even before this Act comes into effect.
中等教育学校の設置のため必要な手続その他の行為は、この法律の施行前においても行うことができる。
