Article 101-2-13Procedures for Application for Payment of Educational Training Benefits for Specialized Practical Educational Training

①An educational training benefit recipient who intends to receive payment of educational training benefits pertaining to specialized practical educational training (hereinafter referred to as a "prospective trainee in specialized practical educational training" in this Article) must, no later than 14 days before the day on which the recipient starts that specialized practical educational training, submit to the Chief of the competent Public Employment Security Office an educational training benefits and educational training support benefits qualification confirmation form, attaching the documents set out in the following items and a driver's license or other document capable of confirming that the prospective trainee in specialized practical educational training is the person themselves, or presenting an Individual Number Card together with attaching the documents set out in the following items.

②When the Chief of the competent Public Employment Security Office finds that a prospective trainee in specialized practical educational training who has submitted the educational training benefits and educational training support benefits qualification confirmation form under the preceding paragraph is an educational training benefit recipient and falls under the persons set out in Article 101-2-7, item (iv), the Chief must enter the necessary matters in an educational training benefits and educational training support benefits qualified recipient's certificate (Form No. 33-2-4) (for an educational training benefit recipient who made the submission under the preceding paragraph by presenting an Individual Number Card and who wishes to be issued a notice of educational training recipient qualification (meaning a notice stating the person's name, insured person number, sex, date of birth, educational training course name, training period, processing status of the benefits, and other matters specified by the Director-General of the Employment Security Bureau; the same applies hereinafter), the notice of educational training recipient qualification) and issue it to that prospective trainee in specialized practical educational training, and at the same time give notice of the matters set out in the following items.

③In determining the period during which the application for payment is to be made as prescribed in item (i) of the preceding paragraph, the Chief of the competent Public Employment Security Office must, for one payment unit period, determine it within a scope not exceeding one month counting from the day following the last day of that payment unit period; provided, however, that this does not apply where the Chief of the competent Public Employment Security Office finds it necessary.

④In this Article and Article 101-2-16, "payment unit period" means one of the periods obtained when the period during which the person is taking specialized practical educational training is divided into periods running from the day on which the person started that specialized practical educational training, or from each day that corresponds to that day every six months during the period of taking that specialized practical educational training and falls within that period (in a month with no corresponding day, the last day of that month; hereinafter referred to as a "corresponding training commencement day" in this paragraph), up to the day before the corresponding training commencement day six months thereafter (for the month in which the day of completing that specialized practical educational training falls, the day of completing that specialized practical educational training).

⑤An educational training benefit recipient who falls under the persons set out in Article 101-2-7, item (iv) and has received the notice under paragraph (2) must, when intending to receive payment of educational training benefits pertaining to specialized practical educational training for a payment unit period, within the period determined as the period for making the application for payment prescribed in paragraph (2), item (i), submit to the Chief of the competent Public Employment Security Office a written application for payment of educational training benefits (relating to Article 101-2-7, item (iv)) (Form No. 33-2-5), attaching the documents set out in the following items and the educational training benefits and educational training support benefits qualified recipient's certificate (or, where that educational training benefit recipient has been issued a notice of educational training recipient qualification, presenting an Individual Number Card together with attaching the documents set out in the following items).

⑥An educational training benefit recipient who falls under the persons set out in Article 101-2-7, item (v) and has received the notice under paragraph (2) must, when intending to receive payment of educational training benefits pertaining to specialized practical educational training, within one month counting from the day following the day on which the recipient completed that specialized practical educational training, made the acquisition, etc. of a qualification pertaining to that specialized practical educational training, and was employed as a generally insured person or an elderly insured person (for a person employed as a generally insured person or an elderly insured person, within one month counting from the day following the day on which the person completed that specialized practical educational training and made the acquisition, etc. of a qualification pertaining to that specialized practical educational training), submit to the Chief of the competent Public Employment Security Office a written application for payment of educational training benefits (relating to Article 101-2-7, item (v)) (Form No. 33-2-6), attaching the documents set out in the following items and the educational training benefits and educational training support benefits qualified recipient's certificate (or, where that educational training benefit recipient has been issued a notice of educational training recipient qualification, presenting an Individual Number Card together with attaching the documents set out in the following items).

⑦An educational training benefit recipient who falls under the persons set out in Article 101-2-7, item (vi) and has received the notice under paragraph (2) must, when intending to receive payment of educational training benefits pertaining to specialized practical educational training, within six months counting from the day on which six months have elapsed from the day following the day on which the recipient completed that specialized practical educational training, made the acquisition, etc. of a qualification pertaining to that specialized practical educational training, and was employed as a generally insured person or an elderly insured person (for a person employed as a generally insured person or an elderly insured person, within six months counting from the day on which six months have elapsed from the day following the day on which the person completed that specialized practical educational training and made the acquisition, etc. of a qualification pertaining to that specialized practical educational training), submit to the Chief of the competent Public Employment Security Office a written application for payment of educational training benefits (relating to Article 101-2-7, item (vi)) (Form No. 33-2-7), attaching the documents set out in the following items and the educational training benefits and educational training support benefits qualified recipient's certificate (or, where that educational training benefit recipient has been issued a notice of educational training recipient qualification, presenting an Individual Number Card together with attaching the documents set out in the following items).

⑧Notwithstanding paragraphs (1), (5) and (6) and the preceding paragraph, an educational training benefit recipient may, as specified by the Director-General of the Employment Security Bureau, omit attaching, among the documents set out in paragraph (1), item (iii), paragraph (5), item (iv), paragraph (6), item (iv) and each item of the preceding paragraph, those specified by the Director-General of the Employment Security Bureau.

⑨The assigned career consultant is to conduct the career consulting referred to in paragraph (1), item (i) while paying attention to the following matters.
