The valid period of licenses for class 1 licenses and class 2 licenses (excluding licenses issued pursuant to Article 95-2, paragraph (11) (excluding those issued to a person who was issued the document prescribed in Article 101-4-2, paragraph (3) as applied by replacing terms pursuant to Article 107 (referred to as a "renewal certificate" in this paragraph); the same applies in the following paragraph) and licenses issued pursuant to Article 106-3, paragraph (2); the same applies hereinafter in this paragraph) and of license information records (limited to license information records recorded pursuant to Article 95-2, paragraph (3) for a person who filed an application pursuant to paragraph (1) of that Article when seeking to be issued a license pursuant to Article 92, paragraph (1) or for a person who was issued a renewal certificate (referred to as "license information record recorded at licensing, etc." in the following paragraph), license information records rewritten pursuant to Article 92, paragraph (2) as applied by replacing terms pursuant to Article 95-3, and license information records renewed pursuant to Article 101, paragraph (6) or Article 101-2, paragraph (4); the same applies hereinafter in this paragraph) is the period until the day specified in the lower column of the following table has passed, for each category set forth in the upper column of that table, according to the age set forth in the middle column of that table.

the same applies in (d)), and who meets the criteria that Cabinet Order prescribes as a person with an exemplary record of compliance with the provisions of this Act and Orders based on this Act with respect to the driving of motor vehicles or motorized bicycles, dispositions under the provisions of this Act, and the provisions of laws relating to aiding or abetting a material violation and an off-road death or injury (c) Driver with a satisfactory record: a person other than a driver with an exemplary record or a driver with a violation or a short record (d) Driver with a violation or a short record: a person who has held a license continuously for five years or more up to the renewal date, etc. and who falls under the criteria that Cabinet Order prescribes as a person with a poor record of compliance with the provisions of this Act and Orders based on this Act with respect to the driving of motor vehicles or motorized bicycles, dispositions under the provisions of this Act, and the provisions of laws relating to aiding or abetting a material violation and an off-road death or injury, or a person for whom that period is less than five years (e) Expiration date, etc.: for each category of licenses and license information records set forth in (1) through (5) below, the day prescribed there (1) licenses and license information records set forth in (a)(1): the day on which the valid period of the license or license information record before renewal expired (2) licenses and license information records set forth in (a)(2): the day on which the valid period of the license information record most recently recorded was to expire (3) licenses and license information records set forth in (a)(3): the day of undergoing the fitness screening under Article 101-2, paragraph (3) (4) licenses issued pursuant to Article 92, paragraph (1), license information records recorded pursuant to Article 95-2, paragraph (3), and license information records rewritten pursuant to Article 92, paragraph (2) as applied by replacing terms pursuant to Article 95-3, in each case for a person who passed the driver's license test for an SM-MVL or S-MVL before reaching 18 years of age: the person's 18th birthday (5) Other licenses and license information records: the day of taking the fitness test for that license or license information record 2. In applying the provisions of Note 1 (b) and (d) of this Table to a person who, as a person falling under a special holder of an expired license, received the license next after the license that ceased to be effective, the period during which that person held the license that ceased to be effective and the period during which that person held that next license are deemed to be continuous. 5. In applying the provisions of Note 1 (b) and (d) of this Table to a person who, as a person falling under a special person stripped of driving privileges, received the license next after the license that was revoked, the period from the day of receiving that revoked license to the day of receiving that revocation and the period during which that person held that next license are deemed to be continuous. 6. In applying this Table where the person's birthday is February 29, the person's birthday in a year other than a leap year is deemed to be February 28. | ||
第一種免許及び第二種免許に係る免許証（第九十五条の二第十一項の規定により交付された免許証（第百七条の規定により読み替えて適用する第百一条の四の二第三項に規定する書面（以下この項において「更新証明書」という。）の交付を受けた者に対して交付されたものを除く。次項において同じ。）及び第百六条の三第二項の規定により交付された免許証を除く。以下この項において同じ。）並びに免許情報記録（第九十二条第一項の規定による免許証の交付を受けようとする際に第九十五条の二第一項の規定による申請をした者又は更新証明書の交付を受けた者に対して同条第三項の規定により記録された免許情報記録（次項において「免許付与時記録免許情報記録等」という。）、第九十五条の三の規定により読み替えて適用する第九十二条第二項の規定により書き換えられた免許情報記録及び第百一条第六項又は第百一条の二第四項の規定により更新された免許情報記録に限る。以下この項において同じ。）の有効期間は、次の表の上欄に掲げる区分ごとに、それぞれ、同表の中欄に掲げる年齢に応じ、同表の下欄に定める日が経過するまでの期間とする。

If the last day of one of the periods prescribed in the preceding two paragraphs falls on a Sunday or any other day that Cabinet Order prescribes, the following day is deemed to be the last day of that period.
前二項に規定する期間の末日が日曜日その他政令で定める日に当たるときは、これらの日の翌日を当該期間の末日とみなす。
