Article 44Procedures for Payment of the Basic Allowance

①The basic allowance is paid to a qualified recipient, except in the case under paragraph (1) of the following Article, by transfer to a deposit or savings account of the qualified recipient (limited to one with a bank or other financial institution designated by the Bank of Japan as prescribed in Article 48, paragraph (2) of the Rules on the Affairs of Cashier Officials (Ministry of Finance Order No. 95 of 1947); the same applies hereinafter).

②A qualified recipient who receives payment of the basic allowance by the method prescribed in the preceding paragraph (hereinafter referred to as a "qualified recipient paid by bank transfer") must submit a notification of designation of the desired financial institution for payment (Form No. 18) to the Chief of the competent Public Employment Security Office, attaching the qualified recipient's certificate (or, where that qualified recipient paid by bank transfer has been issued a notice of recipient qualification, presenting the Individual Number Card).

③A qualified recipient paid by bank transfer who seeks to change the desired financial institution for payment must submit a notification of change of the desired financial institution for payment (Form No. 18) to the Chief of the competent Public Employment Security Office, attaching the qualified recipient's certificate (or, where that qualified recipient paid by bank transfer has been issued a notice of recipient qualification, presenting the Individual Number Card).

④The provisions of the proviso to Article 22, paragraph (1) apply mutatis mutandis to the cases of the preceding two paragraphs.
