Supplementary Provisions, Article 4

①With regard to the payment of expenses for high-cost medical treatment combined with long-term care under the provisions of the Health Insurance Act for medical treatment provided during the period from August 1, 2014 to July 31, 2015 (hereinafter referred to as the "specified calculation period"), the provisions of Articles 43-2 through 43-4 and Article 44 (excluding paragraph (1)) of the Order for Enforcement of the Health Insurance Act as amended by the provisions of Article 1 (hereinafter referred to as the "New Health Insurance Order" in this paragraph) are applied by deeming the phrase "2,120,000 yen" in Article 43-3, paragraph (1), item (ii) of the New Health Insurance Order to be replaced with "1,760,000 yen", the phrase "1,410,000 yen" in item (iii) of that paragraph with "1,350,000 yen", and the phrase "600,000 yen" in item (iv) of that paragraph with "630,000 yen".

②Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, with regard to the payment of expenses for high-cost medical treatment combined with long-term care under the provisions of the Health Insurance Act for medical treatment provided during the specified calculation period in the case where the day deemed, during the specified calculation period, to be the reference date prescribed in Article 43-2, paragraph (1), item (i) of the Order for Enforcement of the Health Insurance Act pursuant to the provisions of Article 43-4, paragraph (1) of that Order is a day before the Effective Date, the provisions then in force continue to govern.

③With regard to the payment of expenses for high-cost medical treatment combined with long-term care under the provisions of the Health Insurance Act for medical treatment provided on or before July 31, 2014, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
