Supplementary Provisions

This Cabinet Order comes into effect on October 1, 2008.

With regard to the application of Article 29 of the Order for Enforcement of the Health Insurance Act as amended by the provisions of Article 1, and Articles 3 and 4 of the Supplementary Provisions of that Order, for the time being, the phrase "the amount of expenses required for insurance benefits (" in Article 29 of that Order is deemed to be replaced with "the amount of expenses required for insurance benefits (for the amount of expenses required for insurance benefits before fiscal 2008, including the amount of expenses required for the payment of contributions under the provisions of the Act on Health and Medical Services for the Elderly (Act No. 80 of 1982) prior to amendment by the provisions of Article 7 of the Act Partially Amending the Health Insurance Act, etc. (Act No. 83 of 2006), day laborer contribution, contributions under the provisions of the National Health Insurance Act prior to amendment by the provisions of Article 13 of the Act Partially Amending the Health Insurance Act, etc., and long-term care payment, and for the amount of expenses required for insurance benefits in and after that fiscal year, ", the phrase "includes" with "is to include", the phrase "Article 29" in Article 3 of the Supplementary Provisions of that Order with "Article 29 as deemed to be replaced pursuant to the provisions of Article 2 of the Supplementary Provisions of the Cabinet Order on Arrangement of Related Cabinet Orders and Transitional Measures Accompanying the Establishment of the Japan Health Insurance Association (Cabinet Order No. 283 of 2008)", the phrase "Article 29, Article 65, paragraph (1), item (i)" in Article 4 of the Supplementary Provisions of that Order with ", Article 29 as deemed to be replaced pursuant to the provisions of Article 2 of the Supplementary Provisions of the Cabinet Order on Arrangement of Related Cabinet Orders and Transitional Measures Accompanying the Establishment of the Japan Health Insurance Association and Article 65, paragraph (1), item (i) as deemed to be replaced pursuant to the provisions of the preceding Article", and the phrase "day laborer contribution" with "day laborer contribution and retiree benefit contribution".
