An employees' old-age pension is paid to a person with an insured period if that person has come to fall under both of the following items:
老齢厚生年金は、被保険者期間を有する者が、次の各号のいずれにも該当するに至つたときに、その者に支給する。
being 65 years of age or older; or
六十五歳以上であること。
having a total premium-paid period and premium-exemption period of 10 years or longer.

「保険料納付済期間」
A premium-paid period as defined in Article 5, paragraph (1) of the National Pension Act: time as a category 1 insured person (第一号被保険者) under that Act for which the full premium was paid or collected, or did not have to be paid under its Article 88-2 or Article 88-3, paragraph (1) or (2), together with all time as a category 2 (第二号被保険者) or category 3 insured person (第三号被保険者) under it.

「保険料免除期間」
A premium-exemption period as defined in Article 5, paragraph (2) of the National Pension Act: the full, three-quarter, half and one-quarter premium exemption periods under that Act taken together.
