Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect as of July 1, 2026.
この法律は、令和八年七月一日から施行する。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 2Transitional Measures Concerning Issuance of Ordinary Passports
第二条（一般旅券の発行に関する経過措置）
The provisions of Article 5 of the Passport Act as amended by this Act (hereinafter referred to as "the new Act") apply to applications for issuance of a passport made on or after the date on which this Act comes into effect (hereinafter referred to as "the effective date"), and with regard to dispositions related to applications for issuance of a passport made before the effective date, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
この法律による改正後の旅券法（以下「新法」という。）第五条の規定は、この法律の施行の日（以下「施行日」という。）以後にされる旅券の発給の申請について適用し、施行日前にされた旅券の発給の申請に係る処分については、なお従前の例による。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 3Transitional Measures Concerning Payment of Fees
第三条（手数料の納付に関する経過措置）
The provisions of Article 20 (excluding paragraph (2)) and Article 20-2 (excluding paragraph (2)) of the new Act apply to applications for the dispositions stated in the items of Article 20, paragraph (1) of the new Act made on or after the effective date, and with regard to fees related to applications concerning the dispositions stated in the items of Article 20, paragraph (1) of the Passport Act prior to its amendment by this Act that were made before the effective date, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
Supplementary Provisions, Article 4
第四条
The provisions of Article 20, paragraph (2) of the new Act (including as applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to Article 20-2, paragraph (2) of the new Act) apply to cases in which an ordinary passport issued based on an application for issuance made on or after the effective date has expired pursuant to the provisions of Article 18, paragraph (1) (limited to the part related to item (ii)) of the Passport Act, and with regard to cases in which an ordinary passport issued based on an application for issuance made before the effective date has expired pursuant to the provisions of that paragraph (limited to the part related to that item), the provisions then in force continue to govern.
新法第二十条第二項（新法第二十条の二第二項において準用する場合を含む。）の規定は、施行日以後にされた発給の申請に基づいて発行された一般旅券が旅券法第十八条第一項（第二号に係る部分に限る。）の規定によりその効力を失った場合について適用し、施行日前にされた発給の申請に基づいて発行された一般旅券が同項（同号に係る部分に限る。）の規定によりその効力を失った場合については、なお従前の例による。

第五条（検討）
When approximately three years have passed after this Act comes into effect, the Government is to take into consideration the status of enforcement, etc. of the provisions as amended by this Act, and if it finds it necessary, is to review those provisions and take the required measures based on the results.
政府は、この法律の施行後三年を目途として、この法律による改正後の規定の施行の状況等を勘案し、必要があると認めるときは、当該規定について検討を加え、その結果に基づいて所要の措置を講ずるものとする。
