申請等の行為（しんせいとうのこうい）

In the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 87 of 1999, an application for a permission or the like, or another act, made under a law's provisions. Article 160 treats such an application or act made under the laws as they stood before that Act and still pending when it came into effect, where the official who is to handle the matter changes on the day that Act comes into effect, as done under the corresponding provisions of the laws as that Act amended them, except as Articles 2 to 159 of its supplementary provisions or the transitional provisions of the amended laws, including orders made under them, provide otherwise.

第三号施行日（だいさんごうしこうび）

1 October 2022, the date the provisions listed in Article 1, item (iii) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 66 of 2021 come into effect — among them that Act's amendment of Article 159 of this Act.

第一号施行日（だいいちごうしこうび）

The date the provisions listed in Article 1, item (i) of the supplementary provisions of the 2023 amending law (Act No. 56 of 2023) came into force.

申請等の行為（しんせいとうのこうい）

In Article 2 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Ministry of Justice Order No. 7 of 2019, an application, request (申出) or other act. That Article treats one made on a form of the Ministerial Orders (省令) as they stood before that Order amended them, and still under way when it came into effect, as made on the corresponding form of the amended Orders.

十六号在留者（じゅうろくごうざいりゅうしゃ）

A person who, when Ministry of Justice Order No. 15 of 1990 came into effect on 1 June 1990, was residing in Japan with a status of residence under Article 4, paragraph (1), item (xvi) of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act as it stood before Act No. 79 of 1989 amended it, and who fell under an item of Article 2 of this Regulation as it stood before that Order; each is deemed to hold the new status of residence the table sets beside that item.

In the supplementary provisions (附則) of Ministry of Justice Order No. 7 of 2019, an application, request (申出) or other act made using a form (様式) that a Ministerial Order (省令) sets. Article 2 treats such an act under way when that Order came into effect, made using a form of one of the Ministerial Orders that Order amended as it stood before that Order, as made using the corresponding form of that Ministerial Order as that Order amended it.
