If a woman who is due to give birth within 6 weeks (or within 14 weeks, in the case of multiple fetuses) requests leave from work, the employer must not make her work.
使用者は、六週間（多胎妊娠の場合にあつては、十四週間）以内に出産する予定の女性が休業を請求した場合においては、その者を就業させてはならない。
An employer must not have a woman who is not yet 8 weeks postpartum work; provided, however, that this does not prevent an employer from having a woman who is at least 6 weeks postpartum work, if she requests to, in operations that a doctor has approved as having no adverse effect on her.
使用者は、産後八週間を経過しない女性を就業させてはならない。ただし、産後六週間を経過した女性が請求した場合において、その者について医師が支障がないと認めた業務に就かせることは、差し支えない。
