Supplementary Provisions, Article 13

第十三条

The following laws and regulations are repealed:

Grand Council of State Proclamation No. 235 of 1872 (Matter Concerning Changes of Surname and Given Name)

Grand Council of State Proclamation No. 118 of 1873 (Matter Concerning the Use of the Characters of the Taboo Names and Names of Successive Emperors)

Act No. 4 of 1940 (Matter Concerning Family Register Notifications by Entrustment or by Mail)

Ministry of Justice Order No. 47 of 1946 (Matter Concerning Notifications of Birth and Death, etc. Based on Imperial Ordinance No. 542 of 1945 Concerning Orders to Be Issued upon the Acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration)

左の法令は、これを廃止する。

明治五年太政官布告(改姓名に関する件)

明治六年太政官布告(御歴代の御諱及び御名の文字の使用に関する件)

(委託又は郵便による戸籍届出に関する件)

With regard to the entrustment of family register notifications made before this Act comes into effect, Act No. 4 of 1940 remains in force. In this case, the confirmation referred to in is made by the family court.

この法律施行前にされた戸籍届出の委託については、は、なお、その効力を有する。この場合には、の確認は、家庭裁判所がこれをする。

The provisions of Article 122 apply mutatis mutandis to the confirmation referred to in the preceding paragraph.

第百二十二条の規定は、前項の確認にこれを準用する。
