①With regard to the amount of the basic childcare leave benefits referred to in paragraph (1) of Article 61-4 of the Employment Insurance Act that are paid for a payment unit period prescribed in paragraph (3) of that Article whose first day is before January 1, 2001, the provisions then in force continue to govern.

②In the case where, within the period of leave prescribed in Article 61-5, paragraph (2) of the new Employment Insurance Act, there is a payment unit period prescribed in that paragraph (hereinafter simply referred to as a "payment unit period" in this paragraph) whose first day is before January 1, 2001, the amount of the return-to-work benefits for persons on childcare leave referred to in paragraph (1) of that Article is, notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (2) of that Article, the amount obtained by adding the amount obtained by multiplying the number of payment unit periods whose first day is before the first day of that month by an amount equivalent to 5 percent of the amount obtained by multiplying by 30 the daily amount of wages at the commencement of absence pertaining to the basic childcare leave benefits that may be received for those payment unit periods (hereinafter referred to as the "monthly amount at the commencement of absence" in this paragraph), to the amount obtained by multiplying the number of payment unit periods whose first day is on or after the first day of that month by an amount equivalent to 10 percent of the monthly amount at the commencement of absence.
