Article 3-3Matters Specified by Order of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare Referred to in Article 2, item (i) of the Order

一Isei bottom trawl net fishing: fishing carried out using a bottom trawl net by a powered fishing vessel with a gross tonnage of 15 tons or more (meaning a powered fishing vessel prescribed in Article 60, paragraph (6) of the Fishery Act (Act No. 267 of 1949); the same applies in the following item and item (iii)) in the sea area of the Pacific Ocean north of the line of 10 degrees 20 seconds north latitude and west of the line consisting of the following lines:

イThe line of 127 degrees 59 minutes 52 seconds east longitude north of 33 degrees 9 minutes 27 seconds north latitude;

ロThe straight line from the point of 33 degrees 9 minutes 27 seconds north latitude and 127 degrees 59 minutes 52 seconds east longitude to the point of 33 degrees 9 minutes 27 seconds north latitude and 128 degrees 29 minutes 52 seconds east longitude;

ハThe straight line from the point of 33 degrees 9 minutes 27 seconds north latitude and 128 degrees 29 minutes 52 seconds east longitude to the point of 25 degrees 15 seconds north latitude and 128 degrees 29 minutes 53 seconds east longitude;

ニThe straight line from the point of 25 degrees 15 seconds north latitude and 128 degrees 29 minutes 53 seconds east longitude to the point of 25 degrees 15 seconds north latitude and 120 degrees 59 minutes 55 seconds east longitude;

ホThe line of 120 degrees 59 minutes 55 seconds east longitude south of 25 degrees 15 seconds north latitude;

二Distant-water bottom trawl net fishing: fishing carried out using a bottom trawl net by a powered fishing vessel with a gross tonnage of 15 tons or more in a sea area other than the sea area of the Pacific Ocean north of the line of 10 degrees 20 seconds north latitude and west of the line consisting of the following lines:

イThe line of 152 degrees 59 minutes 46 seconds east longitude north of 25 degrees 17 seconds north latitude;

ロThe straight line from the point of 25 degrees 17 seconds north latitude and 152 degrees 59 minutes 46 seconds east longitude to the point of 25 degrees 15 seconds north latitude and 128 degrees 29 minutes 53 seconds east longitude;

ハThe straight line in (d) of the preceding item;

ニThe line in (e) of the preceding item;

三Land-based whaling: fishing for whales using harpoon guns by powered fishing vessels (excluding that listed in the following item);

四Factory-ship whaling: fishing carried out as a single operation by a mother ship having manufacturing facilities, refrigeration facilities and other processing facilities and by catcher boats operating independently, in which whales are caught using harpoon guns.
