Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect as of the date specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding 1 year from the date of promulgation.
この法律は、公布の日から起算して一年を超えない範囲内において政令で定める日から施行する。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 2Transitional Measures Concerning Return of Passports
第二条（旅券の返納に関する経過措置）
With regard to an application for or a request for the issuance of a passport made before the date on which this Act comes into effect (hereinafter referred to as "the effective date"), notwithstanding the provisions of Article 8, paragraph (2), the second sentence of paragraph (3), and paragraph (5), and Article 18, paragraph (1) (limited to the part related to item (vi)) of the Passport Act as revised by this Act (hereinafter referred to as "the new Act"), the provisions then in force continue to govern.
Supplementary Provisions, Article 3Transitional Measures Concerning Addition of Pages to the Visa Section of Passports
第三条（旅券の査証欄の増補に関する経過措置）
With regard to an application for or a request for the addition of pages to the visa section of a passport made before the effective date, or a disposition related to that application or request, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
施行日前にされた旅券の査証欄の増補の申請若しくは請求又は当該申請若しくは請求に係る処分については、なお従前の例による。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 4Transitional Measures Concerning the Time of Expiration of Passports
第四条（旅券の失効時期に関する経過措置）
The provisions of Article 18, paragraph (1) (limited to the part related to item (ii)) of the new Act apply to the time at which an ordinary passport issued based on an application for issuance made on or after the effective date expires, and with regard to the time at which an ordinary passport issued based on an application for issuance made before the effective date expires, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
Supplementary Provisions, Article 5Transitional Measures Concerning Payment of Fees
第五条（手数料の納付に関する経過措置）
With regard to the payment of fees related to an application made before the effective date, notwithstanding the provisions of Article 20 (excluding paragraph (2)) and Article 20-2 (excluding paragraph (2)) of the new Act, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
Supplementary Provisions, Article 6
第六条
The provisions of Article 20, paragraph (2) of the new Act (including as applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to Article 20-2, paragraph (2) of the new Act) apply to cases in which an ordinary passport issued based on an application for issuance made on or after the effective date has expired pursuant to the provisions of Article 18, paragraph (1) (limited to the part related to item (ii)) of the new Act, and with regard to cases in which an ordinary passport issued based on an application for issuance made before the effective date has expired pursuant to the provisions of that paragraph (limited to the part related to that item), the provisions then in force continue to govern.
Supplementary Provisions, Article 7Transitional Measures Concerning the Application of Penal Provisions
第七条（罰則の適用に関する経過措置）
With regard to the application of penal provisions to acts committed before this Act comes into effect and to acts committed after this Act comes into effect in the cases in which the provisions then in force continue to govern pursuant to the provisions of Article 3 of the Supplementary Provisions, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
この法律の施行前にした行為及び附則第三条の規定によりなお従前の例によることとされる場合におけるこの法律の施行後にした行為に対する罰則の適用については、なお従前の例による。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 8Delegation to Cabinet Order
第八条（政令への委任）
Beyond what is provided for in these Supplementary Provisions, transitional measures necessary for the enforcement of this Act are specified by Cabinet Order.
この附則に定めるもののほか、この法律の施行に関し必要な経過措置は、政令で定める。
