Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect on the date specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding one year and three months from the date of promulgation; provided, however, that the provisions set forth in the following items come into effect on the dates specified respectively in those items:
この法律は、公布の日から起算して一年三月を超えない範囲内において政令で定める日から施行する。ただし、次の各号に掲げる規定は、当該各号に定める日から施行する。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 2Transitional Measures Accompanying the Partial Amendment of the Passport Act
第二条（旅券法の一部改正に伴う経過措置）
A passport issued again based on the provisions of the Passport Act prior to the amendment by the provisions of Article 1 (hereinafter referred to as "the former Act") that is valid at the time this Act comes into effect, and a passport issued again based on the provisions of the following Article, are deemed to be passports issued pursuant to the provisions of Article 5 or Article 5-2 of the Passport Act as amended by the provisions of Article 1 (hereinafter referred to as "the new Act").
Supplementary Provisions, Article 3
第三条
With regard to an application or request concerning a passport that was made before the effective date of this Act, or a disposition concerning that application or request, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
この法律の施行の日前にされた旅券に関する申請若しくは請求又は当該申請若しくは請求に係る処分については、なお従前の例による。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 4
第四条
With regard to the validity of a passport that has been lost or was destroyed by fire, in the case where the person whose passport has been lost or was destroyed by fire has filed an application or request for the reissuance of a passport based on the provisions of Article 10, paragraph (1) or (2) of the former Act, or has filed an application for a travel document based on the provisions of Article 19-3, paragraph (1) of the former Act, the provisions of Article 18, paragraph (1), item (v) of the former Act remain in force.
旅券を紛失し、又は焼失した者が、旧法第十条第一項若しくは第二項の規定に基づき旅券の再発給の申請若しくは請求を行った場合又は旧法第十九条の三第一項の規定に基づき渡航書の申請を行った場合における当該紛失し、又は焼失した旅券の効力については、旧法第十八条第一項第五号の規定は、なおその効力を有する。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 5
第五条
The provisions of Article 13, paragraph (1), item (v) of the new Act apply to a person who has been sentenced to a punishment on or after the date specified in Article 1, item (i) of the Supplementary Provisions.
新法第十三条第一項第五号の規定は、附則第一条第一号に定める日以後に刑に処せられた者について適用する。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 6
第六条
The provisions of Article 20, paragraphs (1), (3), (4) and (6) of the new Act apply to fees for applications concerning passports that are made on or after the effective date of this Act, and with regard to fees for applications concerning passports that were made before that date, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
Supplementary Provisions, Article 7Transitional Measures Concerning the Application of Penal Provisions
第七条（罰則の適用に関する経過措置）
With regard to the application of penal provisions to acts committed before this Act comes into effect, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
この法律の施行前にした行為に対する罰則の適用については、なお従前の例による。
