Supplementary Provisions, Article 10Transitional Measures Accompanying the Partial Amendment of the Juveniles Act
第十条(少年法の一部改正に伴う経過措置)
In specifying protection cases pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the Supreme Court is to specify them appropriately so that their scope decreases progressively, in order to contribute to the stepwise and smooth promotion of the use of information and communications technology in procedures relating to protection cases.
最高裁判所は、前項の規定に基づき保護事件を定めるに当たっては、保護事件に関する手続における情報通信技術の活用の段階的かつ円滑な推進に資するため、その範囲が逓減するよう適切に定めるものとする。
Supreme Court
最高裁判所
The highest court, and the court of last resort on whether any law, order, regulation or official act conforms to the Constitution (Article 76, paragraph (1), and Article 81). That power is what makes the Constitution enforceable: there is no penalty attached to breaching it, and instead a conflicting rule is held to have no legal force (Article 98, paragraph (1)). Its judges are reviewed by the people at the first general election after appointment, and again after ten further years (Article 79, paragraph (2)).
