特定数量（とくていすうりょう）

In Article 114, paragraph (1), items (i) and (ii), the quantity corresponding to circumstances that would have kept the copyright owner, etc. (著作権者等) from selling all or part of the quantity up to its capacity to sell (販売等相応数量); item (i) deducts it from that quantity.

指定都市（していとし）

A designated city under Article 252-19, paragraph (1) of the Local Autonomy Act: a city with a population of 500,000 or more designated by Cabinet Order (政令).

発行者等（はっこうしゃとう）

In Article 3, paragraph (1), items (i) and (ii), the issuer of a prepaid payment instrument or a person the issuer designates.

行動規範（こうどうきはん）

In Article 156-87, paragraph (2), items (iii) and (iv), the rules that persons providing calculation basis data (算出基礎情報) to a specified financial index calculation agent (特定金融指標算出者) must follow.

特定業務（とくていぎょうむ）

In Article 52-23-2, paragraph (2), the services that a company eligible to be a subsidiary company (子会社対象会社), other than one in Article 52-23, paragraph (1), items (xi) to (xiv), may carry on, dependent services (従属業務) excluded.

委託事務（いたくじむ）

In Article 40, the testing of food, additives, apparatus or containers and packages taken away for testing under Article 28, paragraph (1), which the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Prime Minister or a prefectural governor, etc. entrusts to a registered conformity assessment body (登録検査機関) under Article 28, paragraph (4).

計画区域（けいかくくいき）

The area a local plan for securing job opportunities for elderly persons (地域高年齢者就業機会確保計画) covers.

開示請求書（かいじせいきゅうしょ）

The written request for disclosure (開示請求) submitted to an administrative organ's head or administrative entity (行政機関の長等), stating the requester's name and address or residence and the name of the administrative or similar document (行政文書等) recording the personal information, or other details that identify it.

訂正請求書（ていせいせいきゅうしょ）

The written request for correction (訂正請求) submitted to an administrative organ's head or administrative entity (行政機関の長等), stating the requester's name and address or residence, the date the personal information was disclosed or other details that identify it, and the purpose of and reasons for the request.

学校給食費（がっこうきゅうしょくひ）

The cost of school lunches, as defined in Article 11(2) of the School Lunch Program Act, other than the facilities, equipment and running costs set by Cabinet Order (政令) that the school's founder (設置者) bears; the guardians (保護者) of the pupils who receive the lunches pay it.

第二号許可（だいにごうきょか）

The permission under Article 12, paragraph (1) (special permission to land) or Chapter IV, Section 2 (such as a change of status of residence) of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act for a foreign national who is to carry on Highly Skilled Professional (ii) activities; Article 2 sets the criteria the person must meet when it is granted.

算定対象額（さんていたいしょうがく）

The estimated total of the amounts in Article 70, paragraph (1), items (i) and (ii) (item (i) as worked out under paragraph (2) of that Article where it applies); 9 percent of it goes into the State's adjustment grants (調整交付金) to prefectures under Article 72, and each prefecture puts 9 percent of it from its general account into its national health insurance special account under Article 72-2, paragraph (1).

被保険者等（ひほけんしゃとう）

In Article 108, paragraph (1) and Articles 89 to 90-3, an insured person or former insured person; in Article 74, insured persons, persons entitled to benefits and others concerned.

利害関係人（りがいかんけいにん）

Any of the persons Article 96, paragraph 1 lists: those who have made a request for share distribution (交付要求) on property put up for public auction (公売財産), those holding a pledge, mortgage, statutory lien, right of retention, superficies, lease or other right over it, and the administrative agency, etc. that consented to the realization (換価同意行政機関等).

更正請求書（こうせいせいきゅうしょ）

The written request under Article 23, paragraph (3) by which a taxpayer asks the tax office director (税務署長) to reassess (更正) tax already declared, setting out the corrected tax basis and tax amounts, the reasons for the request and the circumstances behind it; where a taxpayer files one on facts they have concealed or disguised, Article 68 charges the heavy penalty tax (重加算税) in place of the penalty tax for understatement (過少申告加算税).

国内便宜者（こくないべんぎしゃ）

In Article 117, a person with a domicile or residence in the area where this Act is in force who is conveniently placed to handle the specified matters (特定事項) of a taxpayer who has not notified a tax agent (納税管理人), and whom the regional commissioner (国税局長) or tax office director (税務署長) may ask in writing to become that taxpayer's tax agent.

更正請求書（こうせいせいきゅうしょ）

The written request for reassessment that Article 20-9-3, paragraph 3 requires a person making a request for reassessment (更正の請求) to submit to the head of the local government (地方団体の長), stating the corrected tax base or tax amount, the reasons for the request, the circumstances that led to it in detail, the tax and refund amounts before the correction and other relevant matters.

終了等の日（しゅうりょうとうのひ）

The last day of the special application year (申請特例年度), or, where before then the corporation stops having a full control relationship (完全支配関係) with the parent corporation (親法人) because it is dissolved in a merger or its residual assets are finalized, the day before it stopped.

学校法人等（がっこうほうじんとう）

A school juridical person (学校法人) or a corporation under Article 152, paragraph 5 of the Private Schools Act.

特定事業場（とくていじぎょうじょう）

In Article 586, paragraph 2, item 2(c), a specified business site as defined in Article 2, paragraph 6 of the Water Pollution Prevention Act, whose establisher or former establisher installs facilities to purify groundwater containing harmful substances (有害物質).
