Remarks
(i) Visual acuity is measured with the international visual acuity chart. For a person with a refractive error, the corrected visual acuity is measured.
(ii) "Loss of a finger" means loss of the thumb at or above the finger joint, or of any other finger at or above the first finger joint.
(iii) "Loss of use of a finger" means loss of half or more of the distal phalanx of the finger, or marked residual motor impairment of the metacarpophalangeal joint or the first finger joint (or, for the thumb, the finger joint).
(iv) "Loss of a toe" means loss of the whole toe.
(v) "Loss of use of a toe" means loss of half or more of the distal phalanx for the big toe, or loss at or above the distal joint for any other toe, or marked residual motor impairment of the metatarsophalangeal joint or the first toe joint (or, for the big toe, the toe joint).
