Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect as of the day on which 20 days have elapsed from the date of promulgation; provided, however, that the provisions set forth in the following items come into effect as of the dates specified respectively in those items.
この法律は、公布の日から起算して二十日を経過した日から施行する。ただし、次の各号に掲げる規定は、当該各号に定める日から施行する。
the provisions of Article 2, the provisions amending Article 71, paragraph (1) of the Act on Punishment of Organized Crimes and Control of Proceeds of Crime (hereinafter referred to as the "Organized Crime Punishment Act") in Article 3, the provisions of Articles 4 and 5, and the provisions of Articles 10 through 12 and Article 16 of the Supplementary Provisions: the date specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding one year from the date of promulgation.

Supplementary Provisions, Article 6Transitional Measures
第六条（経過措置）
With regard to the application of the provisions of Article 157-4, paragraph (2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure during the period up to the day preceding the effective date of the provisions set forth in Article 1, item (i) of the Supplementary Provisions, the phrase "the same applies hereinafter" in that paragraph is deemed to be replaced with "except for Article 316-14, item (ii), the same applies hereinafter".
附則第一条第一号に掲げる規定の施行の日の前日までの間における刑事訴訟法第百五十七条の四第二項の規定の適用については、同項中「以下同じ」とあるのは、「第三百十六条の十四第二号を除き、以下同じ」とする。

第八条
The provisions then in force continue to govern the application of penal provisions to acts committed before the Effective Date.
施行日前にした行為に対する罰則の適用については、なお従前の例による。
