国土交通大臣等（こくどこうつうだいじんとう）

The Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, a District Transport Bureau Director (地方運輸局長), a Transport Supervision Department Director (運輸監理部長) or a Transport Branch Office Director (運輸支局長) to whom the Minister's authority has been delegated, or the Light Motor Vehicle Inspection Organization (軽自動車検査協会) set up under Chapter V-2 of the Road Transport Vehicle Act, whom the National Public Safety Commission (国家公安委員会) must notify under Article 51-6, paragraph (2) of a demand for payment of an abandonment penalty, or of the revocation of the payment order behind it.

国土交通大臣若しくはその権限の委任を受けた地方運輸局長、運輸監理部長若しくは運輸支局長又は軽自動車検査協会（道路運送車両法第五章の二の規定により設立された軽自動車検査協会をいう。）

国土交通大臣等（こくどこうつうだいじんとう）

The Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, a Director-General of a District Transport Bureau (地方運輸局長), the Director-General of a Transport Supervision Department (運輸監理部長) or of a Transport Branch Office (運輸支局長), or the association (協会), as Article 10 of the Motor Vehicle Tonnage Tax Act names them.

自動車重量税法第十条に規定する国土交通大臣等

自動車特定整備事業者（じどうしゃとくていせいびじぎょうしゃ）

A person certified by the Director of a District Transport Bureau (地方運輸局長) under Article 78, paragraph (1) to run a motor vehicle specified maintenance business (自動車特定整備事業).

指定自動車整備事業者（していじどうしゃせいびじぎょうしゃ）

A motor vehicle specified maintenance business operator (自動車特定整備事業者) whose place of business the Director of a District Transport Bureau (地方運輸局長) has designated under Article 94-2, paragraph (1), as having the facilities, skills, management organization and inspection facilities that meet the standards a Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Order (国土交通省令) sets and as sure to appoint motor vehicle inspectors (自動車検査員).

交通政策審議会等（こうつうせいさくしんぎかいとう）

The Council of Transport Policy (交通政策審議会), or a council set up in a District Transport Bureau (地方運輸局) that a Cabinet Order (政令) designates, which the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism or the Director of a District Transport Bureau consults before deciding a specified minimum wage for mariners.

回送自動車（かいそうじどうしゃ）

A motor vehicle that a person in the business of delivering motor vehicles under their own power (回送), holding permission from the Director of a District Transport Bureau (地方運輸局長), delivers as part of that business.

交付を受けている回送運行許可証等（こうふをうけているかいそううんこうきょかしょうとう）

In Article 36-2, the delivery operation permits (回送運行許可証) currently issued to, and the delivery operation permit number plates (回送運行許可番号標) currently lent to, a person holding the permission of paragraph (1) of that Article for a business of delivering motor vehicles under their own power.

旧機関（きゅうきかん）

A national government body listed in the middle column of the table in Article 2 of the supplementary provisions of Act No. 26 of 2008, such as the Aircraft and Railway Accidents Investigation Commission (航空・鉄道事故調査委員会), the Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency (海難審判庁) or the Central Mariners' Labor Relations Commission (船員中央労働委員会), whose approvals, designations and other acts made before that Act comes into effect count afterwards as made by the body the table puts in its place.

旧機関（きゅうきかん）

A national government body listed in the middle column of the table in Article 2 of the supplementary provisions of Act No. 26 of 2008, such as the Aircraft and Railway Accidents Investigation Commission (航空・鉄道事故調査委員会), the Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency (海難審判庁) or the Central Mariners' Labor Relations Commission (船員中央労働委員会), whose approvals, designations and other acts made before that Act comes into effect count afterwards as made by the body the table puts in its place.

申請等（しんせいとう）

In Article 24 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 25 of 1984, an application, notification or other act. That Article treats such an act made, before that Act came into effect, to a Director of a District Maritime Bureau (海運局長), the Director of the Maritime Supervision Department (海運監理部長), the head of a branch or other local office of either (支局長等) or a Director of a District Land Transport Bureau (陸運局長) as made, as a Cabinet Order (政令) provides — or, for one made to such a branch or local office head, an Order of the Ministry of Transport (運輸省令) — to the corresponding Director of a District Transport Bureau (地方運輸局長), Director of the Maritime Supervision Department or maritime branch office head (海運支局長等) under the Acts and orders as that Act amended them.

That Article treats such an act that, before that Act came into effect, a Director of a District Maritime Bureau (海運局長), the Director of the Maritime Supervision Department (海運監理部長), the head of a branch or other local office of either (支局長等) or a Director of a District Land Transport Bureau (陸運局長) did under an Act (法律) or an order made under one as done, as a Cabinet Order (政令) provides — or, for an act of such a branch or local office head, an Order of the Ministry of Transport (運輸省令) — by the corresponding Director of a District Transport Bureau (地方運輸局長), Director of the Maritime Supervision Department or head of a maritime branch or other local office (海運支局長等) under the Acts and orders as that Act amended them.
