The provisions of this Chapter do not apply to the intermediation of comprehensive credit purchases, nor to a person selling or providing something in a way that involves the intermediation of comprehensive credit purchases, as is referred to in the following:

「包括信用購入あつせん」
Giving a user a card or similar means (カード等) — a card, number or code — with which the user can buy goods or rights from particular sellers, or receive services from particular service providers, then paying the seller or provider and collecting the amount from the user later: either by a set date more than two months after the purchase contract, or in amounts worked out at set intervals from the total bought.

「個別信用購入あつせん」
Without using a card or similar means (カード等), paying a particular seller or service provider all or part of the price of goods, designated rights (指定権利) or services it sells or provides to a purchaser, and collecting that amount from the purchaser by set dates — except where it is all collected by a set date within two months of the purchase contract.

A right to use facilities or to receive services, sold in transactions of people's everyday lives, that a Cabinet Order (政令) specifies.

「連鎖販売個人契約」
A contract for a multilevel marketing transaction (連鎖販売取引), including any other contract for selling goods or rights or providing services in the same multilevel marketing undertaking (連鎖販売業), made with an individual who is to sell the goods or rights or provide the services without a store or similar facility.

A contract for a business opportunity sales transaction (業務提供誘引販売取引) made with an individual who is to do the work offered or arranged in connection with that business without an office or similar facility.

「訪問販売」
A sale of goods (商品) or specified rights (特定権利), or provision of services, by a seller or service provider under a contract offered or made away from its business office or similar place (営業所等), or made at such a place with a specified customer (特定顧客) who was stopped elsewhere and brought there or drawn in by another method a Cabinet Order (政令) specifies.

telemarketing sales
「電話勧誘販売」
A sale of goods (商品) or specified rights (特定権利), or provision of services, in which a seller or service provider solicits the customer during a phone call it made, or had the customer make by a method a Cabinet Order (政令) specifies, and then receives the offer or makes the contract by post or similar means (郵便等).
