A motor vehicle must not be used for operation unless the motor vehicle inspection certificate is kept in it and an inspection mark is displayed as prescribed by Order of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
The Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism must issue an inspection mark to the user in the following cases:
国土交通大臣は、次の場合には、使用者に検査標章を交付しなければならない。
when issuing a motor vehicle inspection certificate pursuant to Article 60, paragraph (1) or Article 71, paragraph (4);
when recording the validity period on a motor vehicle inspection certificate and returning it pursuant to Article 62, paragraph (2) (including as applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to Article 63, paragraph (3) and paragraph (4) of the following Article).
The inspection mark is to indicate, as prescribed by Order of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the time at which the validity period of the motor vehicle inspection certificate expires, as of the time of issuance of the mark.
検査標章には、国土交通省令で定めるところにより、その交付の際の当該自動車検査証の有効期間の満了する時期を表示するものとする。
The validity period of an inspection mark is the same as the validity period of the motor vehicle inspection certificate of the motor vehicle at the time of issuance of the mark.
検査標章の有効期間は、その交付の際の当該自動車の自動車検査証の有効期間と同一とする。
An inspection mark must not be displayed on the motor vehicle when the motor vehicle inspection certificate has ceased to be effective, or when, as a result of a continuing inspection, extraordinary inspection or inspection for change of structure, etc., it has not been possible to have the motor vehicle inspection certificate returned.
検査標章は、当該自動車検査証がその効力を失つたとき、又は継続検査、臨時検査若しくは構造等変更検査の結果、当該自動車検査証の返付を受けることができなかつたときは、当該自動車に表示してはならない。
