旧機関（きゅうきかん）

A national government body listed in the middle column of the table in Article 2 of the supplementary provisions of Act No. 26 of 2008, such as the Aircraft and Railway Accidents Investigation Commission (航空・鉄道事故調査委員会), the Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency (海難審判庁) or the Central Mariners' Labor Relations Commission (船員中央労働委員会), whose approvals, designations and other acts made before that Act comes into effect count afterwards as made by the body the table puts in its place.

最終月（さいしゅうげつ）

In Article 8, paragraph (3) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 54 of 1984, the last month of the basis period (基礎期間) under Article 53, paragraph (1), item (ii) of a person who applied under that paragraph for the job applicant benefits for day workers (日雇労働求職者給付金).

基準日（きじゅんび）

In Article 4, paragraph (2) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 57 of 1994, the day of separation from service (離職) on which a qualified recipient's recipient qualification (受給資格) is based.

改正法（かいせいほう）

Short name for the Act Partially Amending the Employment Insurance Act, etc. (Act No. 31 of 2003), used in the wording that the supplementary provisions (附則) of that Act substitute into provisions of this Act for cases that straddle its coming into effect.

裁決等（さいけつとう）

A ruling, decision or other disposition on an administrative appeal.

改革工程（かいかくこうてい）

In Article 47 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 47 of 2024, the reform roadmap toward building a social security system for all generations (全世代型社会保障構築を目指す改革の道筋) that the Cabinet decided on 22 December 2023.

特例認定（とくれいにんてい）

In Article 8 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 57 of 2017, a certification of a transition plan under Article 10-3, paragraph (1) of the supplementary provisions of Act No. 84 of 2006 that a medical corporation certified before the item (ii) Effective Date (第二号施行日前認定医療法人) receives under Article 8, paragraph (1), on which its earlier certification ceases to have effect.

基本月額（きほんげつがく）

In Article 11, paragraph (1) of the supplementary provisions (附則), one twelfth of an employees' old-age pension under Article 8 of those supplementary provisions whose amount is worked out under Article 43, paragraph (1) and Article 9 of them.

旧高確法（きゅうこうかくほう）

Short name, in Article 5, paragraphs (4) to (6) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 31 of 2023, for the Act on Assurance of Medical Care for Elderly People (Act No. 80 of 1982) as it stood before Article 6 of Act No. 31 of 2023 amended it (leaving aside the amendments listed in Article 1, items (i), (iv) and (vi) of that Act's supplementary provisions).

改革工程（かいかくこうてい）

In Article 47 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 47 of 2024, the reform roadmap toward building a social security system for all generations (全世代型社会保障構築を目指す改革の道筋) that the Cabinet decided on 22 December 2023.

媒介契約（ばいかいけいやく）

A contract to act as intermediary (媒介) in the sale or exchange of a building lot (宅地) or building.

移行認可（いこうにんか）

Authorisation under Article 4, paragraph (1) of the supplementary provisions of the law on public-interest trusts (公益信託に関する法律) for a trust set up under the earlier Act on Charitable Trust; a trust that has it is treated as a public-interest trust under the new rules.

提供事項（ていきょうじこう）

The matters that the head of a business office of a financial instruments business operator, etc. (金融商品取引業者等) had to provide to the district tax office director (税務署長) under Article 37-14, paragraph (9) or (13) of this Act as it stood before Act No. 10 of 2014, which, with that director's approval, could be provided to the district tax office director a Ministry of Finance Order (財務省令) sets instead.

ファイル（ふぁいる）

In Article 6, paragraph (4) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 96 of 2000, the file kept on the computer referred to in Article 27-30-2 of this Act as that Act amended it, under its former title (証券取引法); a filing made through the electronic data processing system for disclosure (開示用電子情報処理組織) is treated as reaching the Cabinet Office (内閣府) when it is recorded in that file.

報奨金等（ほうしょうきんとう）

In Article 4 of the supplementary provisions (附則), the monetary incentive (報奨金) of its paragraph (3) and the special monetary incentive for home-based workers with disabilities (在宅就業障害者特例報奨金) of its paragraph (4), which the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare may pay, for the time being, to employers regularly employing 100 or fewer workers.

In Article 17 of the supplementary provisions (附則) of Act No. 83 of 2006, the benefits under Article 6, paragraph (1), Article 7, paragraph (1) or Article 8, paragraph (1) of the supplementary provisions (附則) of the Child Allowance Act (Act No. 73 of 1971); for a person taken on as staff of the Japan Health Insurance Association (全国健康保険協会) who was certified for them, or for the child allowance (児童手当), by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, a municipal mayor's certification is treated as made on the day the Association was established.
