特定処分（とくていしょぶん）

In Article 40(8), the revocation of a public interest certification (公益認定) under Article 29(1) or (2) of the Act on Authorization of Public Interest Incorporated Associations and Public Interest Incorporated Foundations, other than a revocation whose grounds also allow the approval under Article 40(1) to be cancelled.

新受託者（しんじゅたくしゃ）

A new trustee (新受託者) as referred to in Article 12, paragraph (1) of the Act on Public Interest Trusts; here, the new trustee of a public interest trust (公益信託) who takes over the property when the original trustee's (当初受託者) duties end.

建築確認（けんちくかくにん）

In Article 41(16), (25) and (26), the confirmation under Article 6(1) of the Building Standards Act (建築基準法) that a planned building complies with building rules.

特定地域（とくていちいき）

In Article 69-6, the area to which Article 3(1) of the Act on Support for Reconstructing Livelihoods of Disaster Victims applies because of a specified extraordinary disaster (特定非常災害), or, where it does not apply, an area the Minister of Finance designates as having suffered considerable damage from the disaster.

保有機構（ほゆうきこう）

In Article 84-3, the Shinkansen Railway Holding Organization (新幹線鉄道保有機構), as it was before its dissolution under Article 5, paragraph (1) of the Act on Transfer, etc. of Railway Facilities for Shinkansen.

労働時間（ろうどうじかん）

In Article 17, the working hours that Article 36, paragraph 1 of the Labor Standards Act lets an employer extend under a written labor-management agreement — the statutory working-hour limits of Articles 32 to 32-5 and 40 of that Act.

認知機能（にんちきのう）

Cognitive function as the term is used in Article 5-2, paragraph (1) of the Long-Term Care Insurance Act, which defines dementia (認知症) as a state, set by Cabinet Order (政令), in which cognitive function has declined through Alzheimer's disease or another illness to a degree that hinders daily life.

契約金額（けいやくきんがく）

In Article 31-2, the amount that, under a contract a financial instruments business operator has concluded and notified to the Prime Minister, is to be deposited for it as business security deposit (営業保証金) on the Prime Minister's order; while the contract is in effect, the operator need not itself deposit that amount.

登録原簿（とうろくげんぼ）

The sales representative register (外務員登録原簿), kept at a place a Cabinet Office Order (内閣府令) specifies, in which a financial instruments business operator, etc. (金融商品取引業者等) must register the name, date of birth and other particulars of each of its officers and employees who carry on for it the acts listed in Article 64, paragraph (1).

申請者等（しんせいしゃとう）

In Article 52-18, a company that has applied for authorization under Article 52-17, paragraph (1) or the proviso to paragraph (3) of that Article, or the company to be incorporated with that authorization.

指定都市（していとし）

A designated city under Article 252-19, paragraph (1) of the Local Autonomy Act: a city with a population of 500,000 or more designated by Cabinet Order (政令).

計画期間（けいかくきかん）

In Article 11, paragraphs (6) and (7), the period of the national plan for the optimization of medical expenses (全国医療費適正化計画).

世帯変更届（せたいへんこうとどけ）

In Articles 27 to 27-3, the notification under Article 25 of the Residential Basic Book Act that a person whose household or householder (世帯主) has changed must give the mayor within 14 days of the change.

開示請求等（かいじせいきゅうとう）

In Article 127, a request for disclosure (開示請求), for correction (訂正請求) or for ceasing to use personal information (利用停止請求), or a proposal under Article 112, paragraph (1) or Article 118, paragraph (1) to use anonymized personal information the administrative entity holds (行政機関等匿名加工情報) in a business.

病床の種別（びょうしょうのしゅべつ）

The kinds of hospital bed listed in Article 7, paragraph (2) of the Medical Care Act — psychiatric, infectious disease, tuberculosis, long-term care (療養病床) and general beds — by each of which a hospital or a clinic with beds must state its number of beds when applying to be designated as a medical institution providing services covered by health insurance.

労働保険料（ろうどうほけんりょう）

In Article 21-2, the labor insurance premiums (労働保険料) other than the stamp insurance premiums (印紙保険料).

最高限度額（さいこうげんどがく）

In Article 14(1), the maximum basic daily payment amount the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare sets for the worker's age group under Article 8-2(2)(ii), where that amount is used as the worker's basic daily payment amount (給付基礎日額).

特定古物商（とくていこぶつしょう）

In Article 12, paragraphs (2) and (3), a secondhand goods dealer (古物商) that uses the method in Article 5, paragraph (1), item (vi): making information on the secondhand goods (古物) it handles available for the public to view by automatic transmission over a telecommunications line, and taking offers to trade by a means of communication set by National Public Safety Commission Rules (国家公安委員会規則).

特定役員等（とくていやくいんとう）

In Article 40, an officer of a stock company, or a member with limited liability who executes the business of a limited partnership company (合資会社) or limited liability company (合同会社), who committed the deception or other wrongful act by which the company evaded, or obtained a refund of, a national tax, where the company, taking that person as a shareholder or member on which the test is based, is a company referred to in Article 67, paragraph 2 of the Corporation Tax Act.

納税の猶予（のうぜいのゆうよ）

Permission under Article 46, paragraphs 1 to 3 of the Act on General Rules for National Taxes to pay a national tax later, for a limited period, because of a disaster, illness, business trouble or similar hardship.
