使用（しよう）

In Article 19, paragraph (1), item (iii), use of a mark as defined in Article 2, paragraph (3) of the Trademark Act, such as putting the mark on goods, their packaging or things used in providing a service, selling or otherwise dealing in goods that bear it, or putting it on advertisements, price lists or trade documents.

銀行（ぎんこう）

In Article 34, paragraph (2) and Article 703, item (i), a bank as defined in Article 2, paragraph (1) of the Banking Act: a person that carries on banking business under a licence from the Prime Minister (内閣総理大臣) under Article 4, paragraph (1) of that Act.

動産（どうさん）

Movable property (動産) as defined in Article 24, paragraph 5, item 1 of the National Tax Collection Act, here movable property in a third party's possession.

国税徴収法第二十四条第五項第一号に規定する動産

家屋（かおく）

A house as Article 341, item 3 defines it: a dwelling, shop, factory (including a power station or substation), warehouse or other building.

銀行（ぎんこう）

In Article 16-2 and Article 21, paragraph (3), a bank as defined in Article 2, paragraph (1) of the Banking Act: a person that carries on banking business under a licence from the Prime Minister (内閣総理大臣) under Article 4, paragraph (1) of that Act.

離島（りとう）

An island all or part of which lies in a remote island development area (離島振興対策実施地域) designated under Article 2, paragraph (1) of the Remote Islands Development Act, an island in the Amami Islands under Article 1 of the Act on Special Measures for the Amami Islands Promotion and Development, or a remote island under Article 3, item (iii) of the Act on Special Measures for the Promotion and Development of Okinawa; aviation fuel loaded on planes flying routes between such islands and the rest of Japan that a Cabinet Order (政令) specifies is taxed at a reduced rate.

その地域の全部又は一部が離島振興法第二条第一項の規定により指定された同項の離島振興対策実施地域に含まれる島、奄美群島振興開発特別措置法第一条に規定する奄美群島の区域に含まれる島及び沖縄振興特別措置法第三条第三号に規定する離島

基金（ききん）

In Article 63-24, paragraph (1), item (ii) and Article 65, paragraph (1), item (ii), the fund (基金) of a general incorporated association as provided for in Article 131 of the Act on General Incorporated Associations and General Incorporated Foundations: money or other property contributed to the association that it is obliged to return to the contributor as that Act and their agreement provide.

一般社団法人及び一般財団法人に関する法律（平成十八年法律第四十八号）第百三十一条に規定する基金

農薬（のうやく）

In Article 13, paragraph (3) and Article 14, an agricultural chemical as defined in Article 2, paragraph (1) of the Agricultural Chemicals Regulation Act: a fungicide, insecticide, herbicide or other agent used to control pests and diseases of crops, or a growth promoter, germination inhibitor or other agent used to boost or check their physiological functions, fertilizers excepted.

基準日（きじゅんび）

The earliest date on which, in the case concerning an act subject to administrative monetary penalty (課徴金対象行為), any of these took place: a demand for a report, an order to submit books, documents or other items, an on-site inspection or questioning under Article 25, paragraph (1); a request under Article 8, paragraph (3) for materials backing a representation; or the notice under Article 15, paragraph (1).

同項に規定する課徴金対象行為に係る事案について、次に掲げる行為が行われた日のうち最も早い日

委員会（いいんかい）

In Articles 13 and 20-3, a commission (委員会) of a municipality: one of the executive bodies (執行機関) that, under Article 138-4, paragraph (1) of the Local Autonomy Act, a local government has besides its mayor or governor as Acts provide — for a municipality, bodies such as its board of education (教育委員会), election administration commission (選挙管理委員会) and agricultural committee (農業委員会).

地方自治法第百三十八条の四第一項に規定する委員会

差入人（さしいれにん）

A person who brought or sent cash or goods for a detainee in an immigration detention facility.

法第五十五条の二十七第一項に規定する差入人

事業主（じぎょうぬし）

In Article 12, paragraph (7) and Article 108, paragraph (3), an employer as defined in Article 27 of the Employees' Pension Insurance Act: the employer (事業主) of a place of business covered by employees' pension insurance (適用事業所), or the employer of another place of business who has consented to a person under 70 employed there becoming insured with the approval of the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare.

同法第二十七条に規定する事業主

増額率（ぞうがくりつ）

In Article 4-5, the rate by which an old-age basic pension whose payment is deferred (支給の繰下げ) is increased: 7/1000 times the number of months from the month the person became entitled to it to the month before the month of the request to defer payment (including a request treated as made under Article 28, paragraph (5) of the National Pension Act), counting at most 120 months.

社債等（しゃさいとう）

In Article 74-13-3, paragraph (1) and Article 74-13-4, paragraph (1), the interests listed in Article 2, paragraph (1) of the Act on Book-Entry Transfer of Corporate Bonds and Shares, among them corporate bonds (社債), national government bonds (国債), local government bonds (地方債), shares (株式), share options (新株予約権), bonds with share options, investment units (投資口) and beneficial interests in certain trusts.

同法第二条第一項に規定する社債等

投資口（とうしぐち）

In Article 117, paragraph (5), item (ii), (a), an investment unit as defined in Article 2, paragraph (14) of the Act on Investment Trusts and Investment Corporations: the position of a member (社員) of an investment corporation (投資法人), divided into equal fractional units; for an investment corporation, the provision counts its issued investment units where it counts a company's issued shares.

同条第十四項に規定する投資口

社債等（しゃさいとう）

Corporate bonds, etc. as defined in Article 2, paragraph 1 of the Act on Book-Entry Transfer of Corporate Bonds and Shares; matters about their contents form part of the subscriber information (加入者情報) that an account management institution (口座管理機関) must keep searchable by each subscriber's Individual Number (個人番号).

同法第二条第一項に規定する社債等

預り金（あずかりきん）

In Article 35, paragraph (1), item (xi) and Article 64-3, paragraph (2), item (i), money that a real estate broker (宅地建物取引業者) receives from a party it deals with or acts for (宅地建物取引業者の相手方等) in connection with the building lot or building being dealt in — a price, a difference paid in an exchange (交換差金), rent or other money — of a kind set by Order of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Cabinet Office Order (国土交通省令・内閣府令), other than earnest money, etc. (手付金等) already protected by the measures of Article 41, paragraph (1) or Article 41-2, paragraph (1); the same sentence defines disbursements (支払金) in the same words.

An investment unit as defined in Article 2, paragraph (14) of the Act on Investment Trusts and Investment Corporations: the position of a member (社員) of an investment corporation (投資法人), divided into equal fractional units.

閲覧等（えつらんとう）

In Article 132-7 and Article 133, paragraph (3), access to a hard-copy record of a disposition on the collection of evidence (非電磁的証拠収集処分記録の閲覧等): inspecting or copying the record of a case in which a disposition under Article 132-4, paragraph (1) (collecting evidence before an action is filed) has been petitioned for, other than its part that is information from the court's computer files (ファイル記録事項), or obtaining an authenticated copy, transcript or extract or a reproduction of it.

引受け（ひきうけ）

In Article 61-4, paragraphs (1) and (2), the underwriting of securities: when newly issued securities are offered for acquisition, or already issued securities are offered for sale or for purchase, contracting to acquire all or part of them so that others can acquire them, or to acquire what remains where no one else acquires all or part of them — other than underwriting meant to acquire securities not for buying and selling (売買目的外有価証券) as Article 61-3, paragraph (1), item (ii) defines them.
