①With regard to the information contained on an Individual Number Card that has actually been applied for or issued at the time the provisions set forth in Article 1, item (iv) of the Supplementary Provisions come into effect, the provisions then in force continue to govern.

②With regard to the information contained on an Individual Number Card pertaining to an application under Article 16-2, paragraph (1) of the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures as amended by the provisions of Article 2, in the case where, as of the date of that application, the matters set forth in Article 7, item (i)-2 of the Residential Basic Book Act as amended by the provisions of Article 3 (limited to the amending provisions set forth in Article 1, item (iii) of the Supplementary Provisions) (hereinafter referred to as the "new Residential Basic Book Act" in this paragraph and Article 5, paragraph (3) of the Supplementary Provisions) are not stated in the residence certificate pertaining to the person who made that application (or, for a person who has moved out of Japan prescribed in Article 17, item (iii) of the Residential Basic Book Act, in the case where the matters set forth in Article 17, item (ii)-2 of the new Residential Basic Book Act are not stated in the family register supplement pertaining to the person who made that application), the provisions then in force continue to govern.

③With regard to the information recorded in a Card Substitute Electronic Record prescribed in Article 2, paragraph (8) of the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures that has been or is to be issued to a person who has been issued an Individual Number Card to which the provisions of the preceding two paragraphs have been applied, the provisions then in force continue to govern.
