Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date

This Act comes into effect as of the day specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding five years from the date of promulgation (hereinafter referred to as the "Effective Date"); provided, however, that the provision in Article 1 amending the Act on Book-Entry Transfer of Corporate Bonds, etc. by deleting the row for Article 33 in the table of Article 48 of that Act, the provision adding the row for Article 90, paragraph (1) after the row for Article 89, paragraph (2) in that table, the provisions amending Articles 115, 118, 121 and 123 of that Act, the provision amending Article 128 (excluding the part that makes that Article Article 299), the provision adding seven Chapters after Chapter VI of that Act (limited to the part pertaining to Article 158, paragraph (2) (excluding items (ii) through (iv)), paragraphs (3) and (4), Article 252, paragraph (1) (limited to the part pertaining to Article 158, paragraph (2) (excluding items (ii) through (iv)), paragraphs (3) and (4) as applied mutatis mutandis in Article 252, paragraph (1)), Article 253, Article 261, paragraph (1) (limited to the part pertaining to Article 158, paragraph (2) (excluding items (ii) through (iv)), paragraphs (3) and (4) as applied mutatis mutandis in Article 261, paragraph (1)), Article 262, Article 268, paragraph (1) (limited to the part pertaining to Article 158, paragraph (2) (excluding items (ii) through (iv)), paragraphs (3) and (4) as applied mutatis mutandis in Article 268, paragraph (1)), and Article 269), the provision amending the table of Article 19 of the Supplementary Provisions of that Act (limited to the part replacing "Article 111, paragraph (1)" with "Article 111"), the provision amending Article 33 of the Supplementary Provisions of that Act (limited to the part replacing "Article 2, paragraph (2) of that Act" with "Article 2, paragraph (2) of the Act on Investment Trusts and Investment Corporations"), the provisions of Article 2, the provisions of Article 3 (excluding the provision amending Article 9, paragraph (3) of the Act on Investment Trusts and Investment Corporations), the provisions of Articles 4 through 7, the provisions of Articles 3 through 29, Article 34 (excluding paragraph (1)), Articles 36 through 43, Article 47, Article 50 and Article 51 of the Supplementary Provisions, the provision amending Article 4-4, paragraph (1), item (iii) of the Act on Financial Businesses by Cooperative (Act No. 183 of 1949) in Article 59 of the Supplementary Provisions, the provisions of Articles 70, 85, 86, 95 and 109 of the Supplementary Provisions, the provision amending Article 126 of the Act on Special Measures for the Reorganization Proceedings of Financial Institutions (Act No. 95 of 1996) in Article 112 of the Supplementary Provisions, the provisions of Articles 120 through 122 of the Supplementary Provisions, the provision amending Article 12-8, paragraph (3) and Article 12-11, paragraph (7) of the Act on Special Measures for Industrial Revitalization (Act No. 131 of 1999) in Article 123 of the Supplementary Provisions, the provisions of Article 125 of the Supplementary Provisions, and the provision amending Article 205, paragraph (4) and Article 214 of the Corporate Reorganization Act (Act No. 154 of 2002) in Article 129 of the Supplementary Provisions come into effect as of the day specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding one year from the date of promulgation (hereinafter referred to as the "Partial Effective Date").
