Supplementary Provisions, Article 1Effective Date
第一条（施行期日）
This Act comes into effect on June 1, 1997; provided, however, that the provisions set forth in the following items come into effect as of the days specified in those items:
この法律は、平成九年六月一日から施行する。ただし、次の各号に掲げる規定は、当該各号に定める日から施行する。
the provisions amending the table of contents, the provisions amending Article 175, the provisions adding a Section after Part II, Chapter IV, Section 3-2, and the provisions amending Article 414, and the provisions of Articles 6 and 7 of the Supplementary Provisions: October 1, 1997.
目次の改正規定、第百七十五条の改正規定、第二編第四章第三節ノ二の次に一節を加える改正規定及び第四百十四条の改正規定並びに附則第六条及び第七条の規定 平成九年十月一日
Supplementary Provisions, Article 2Transitional Measures
第二条（経過措置）
The provisions then in force continue to govern the acquisition of own shares pursuant to a resolution of an ordinary general meeting for which procedures for convening have commenced before this Act comes into effect.
この法律の施行前に定時総会の招集の手続が開始された場合におけるその定時総会の決議に係る自己の株式の取得については、なお従前の例による。
Supplementary Provisions, Article 3Transitional Measures Concerning the Application of Penal Provisions
第三条（罰則の適用に関する経過措置）
The provisions then in force continue to govern the application of penal provisions to acts committed before this Act comes into effect and to acts committed after this Act comes into effect in cases where the provisions then in force are to continue to apply pursuant to the preceding Article.
この法律の施行前にした行為及び前条の規定により従前の例によることとされる場合におけるこの法律の施行後にした行為に対する罰則の適用については、なお従前の例による。
