The court of second instance shall examine matters covered in the statement of the reasons for appeal.
控訴裁判所は、控訴趣意書に包含された事項は、これを調査しなければならない。
The court of second instance may conduct examinations ex officio with regard to the items set forth in the provisions of Article 377 through Article 382 and Article 383, even when these are not covered in the statement of the reasons for appeal to the court of second instance.
控訴裁判所は、控訴趣意書に包含されない事項であつても、第三百七十七条乃至第三百八十二条及び第三百八十三条に規定する事由に関しては、職権で調査をすることができる。
