Article 43Addition of Restrictions Concerning Technical Standards for the Safety of Motor Vehicles
第四十三条（自動車の保安上の技術基準についての制限の付加）
The Director of a District Transport Bureau may, with respect to the user of a motor vehicle that is mainly in operation on a road that is dangerous in terms of safety owing to road surface conditions, etc., such as gradient, bends, mud, accumulated snow or ice, add to that motor vehicle the restrictions on the matters in the items of Article 40 under that Article, the restrictions on the running gear, braking equipment, lighting equipment or warning equipment under Article 41, paragraph (1), or the restrictions on seating capacity or maximum load capacity under the preceding Article.
When the Director of a District Transport Bureau is to take the action referred to in the preceding paragraph, the Director must obtain the approval of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in advance.
地方運輸局長は、前項の行為をするときは、あらかじめ、国土交通大臣の承認を受けなければならない。
