A worker as defined in Article 9 of the Labor Standards Act (a person employed at a business or office and paid wages, whatever the kind of job), except a person employed at a business or office that employs only relatives living in the same household, and a domestic worker.

社債的受益権（しゃさいてきじゅえきけん）

A class of beneficial interest in a specified-purpose trust (特定目的信託) whose holders receive distributions of a predetermined amount during the trust period, as described in Article 230, paragraph (1), item (ii) of the Act on the Securitization of Assets.

資産の流動化に関する法律（平成十年法律第百五号）第二百三十条第一項第二号に規定する社債的受益権

独立行政法人等（どくりつぎょうせいほうじんとう）

Incorporated administrative agencies (独立行政法人) as defined in Article 2, paragraph (1) of the Act on General Rules for Incorporated Administrative Agencies, and the corporations listed in Appended Table 1 (別表第一) of this Act.

扶養義務者（ふようぎむしゃ）

Throughout this Act, a person's spouse and the relatives defined in Article 877 of the Civil Code: lineal blood relatives and siblings, who owe each other support, and relatives within the third degree on whom a family court (家庭裁判所) has imposed that duty in special circumstances.

配偶者及び民法（明治二十九年法律第八十九号）第八百七十七条（扶養義務者）に規定する親族

自動車（じどうしゃ）

Throughout this Act, both a motor vehicle as defined in Article 2, paragraph (1), item (ix) of the Road Traffic Act — a vehicle that runs on an engine or motor without rails or overhead wires, or one performing specified automated operation (特定自動運行), other than motorized bicycles, light vehicles (軽車両) and the other small vehicles that item leaves out — and a motorized bicycle (原動機付自転車) as defined in item (x) of that paragraph.

A cryptoasset (暗号資産) as defined in Article 2, paragraph (14) of the Payment Services Act, or anything listed in paragraph (5), item (iv) of that Article that a Cabinet Office Order (内閣府令) specifies as needing investor protection.

特定特別永住者証明書（とくていとくべつえいじゅうしゃしょうめいしょ）

投資運用関係業務受託業（とうしうんようかんけいぎょうむじゅたくぎょう）

Carrying on as a business, on entrustment by a person allowed by this Act to carry on investment management business, etc. (投資運用業等), any of the investment management-related services (投資運用関係業務) in Article 2, paragraph (43) for that person.

電子調書（でんしちょうしょ）

An electronic or magnetic record (電磁的記録) a court clerk (裁判所書記官) prepares under this Code or other laws and regulations to record and certify the form, content, progress and other details of proceedings held on or outside a court date (期日).

住宅宿泊事業（じゅうたくしゅくはくじぎょう）

A business of putting people up in a residence (住宅) for a lodging charge, run by someone other than a person who runs a hotel business (旅館業) under a permit from Article 3, paragraph (1) of the Hotel Business Act, on no more than 180 days a year, counted as an Order of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (国土交通省令・厚生労働省令) sets.

A person carrying on an employment placement business either with the permission (許可) of the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare under Article 30, paragraph (1) or Article 33, paragraph (1), or after giving the notification (届出) Article 33-2, paragraph (1) or Article 33-3, paragraph (1) requires.

介護老人保健施設（かいごろうじんほけんしせつ）

A long-term care health facility as defined in Article 8, paragraph (28) of the Long-Term Care Insurance Act: a facility licensed by the prefectural governor under Article 94, paragraph (1) of that Act to give nursing, care under medical supervision, functional training, other necessary medical care and help with daily life, under a facility service plan (施設サービス計画), to people requiring long-term care (要介護者) who mainly need support to maintain and restore their physical and mental functions so that they can live at home, and whose need for treatment is of the degree a Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare Order (厚生労働省令) sets.
